Congrats, man! I feel your pain with Cutiefly. The tiny size with little noticeable difference in color meant that I couldn’t use the picnic method without risking missing it. It took several outbreaks, but I finally found one!

Fun fact: if you can evolve a pokemon that requires 1000 steps, you can then swap another to the front of your party then level it up and evolve up to five more at the same time. I have tested this recently when having to evolve both pawmo and rellor for the dex, so use this as you may.

For others who care not for their sanity in the face of funny bug different color, might I invite you to participate in the SV Lighting Engine Hates You challenge? The goal is to catch a shiny Snom, Joltik, and Cutiefly, each with the minimum possible size. These Pokémon have shinies that are already fairly subtle, but the way lighting works in these games makes them especially hard to spot- every Cutiefly looks pink at sunrise and sunset, every Joltik looks greenish near the chargestone crystals, and shiny Snom is nearly indistinguishable from the rest in basically any lighting. For the truly unhinged, you should also hunt for a minimum size shiny Petilil, a minimum size shiny Tynamo in the ocean, and a minimum size shiny Charcadet in Tagtree Thicket.
