Drew I love that you never say where these spots are so they aren't flooded with people. I live and fish in Wyoming and the social media stuff is killing all the good places that used to be more private. Thank you

Drew- I love that you're going off into the dispersed public lands, avoiding famous rivers and parks. I don't think you've done one video featuring Henry's Fork or the Madison. I live in Central California, near Kings Canyon and Yosemite where our parks hit crisis point this last summer. I think you're on to the next wave of responsible outdoor recreation- get outdoors, camp, catch fish, but give the crowded spots a break....... I love your message whether its intentional or not!

Nope I didn't fish any of the famous rivers on my trip. Probably will one day but not really my thing right now. Not sure it's a message or just my personality but I seek out seclusion and areas that are still wild...that's the experience I'm searching for!

I have fished all the major streams in Michigan and a boatload of the smaller brook trout streams (if I had a dollar for every sublegal brook trout). I have also fished Montana (the Bob Marshall and Glacier) and Colorado (all over). I love fishing Michigan but, for sure, flyfishing out west is incredible. Have you fished the St. Mary's River Mark? I was there in August after Canada opened the border. Caught some pinks and a few rainbows. The St. Mary's is incredible water.

Another killer trip!!! Curious, Why don’t you have some type of net minder? I have to have my net secured to me even bushwhacking I would lose it it would float away something it would drive me insane not to have my net secure to me.
@LooknFishy
@LooknFishy 2 жыл бұрын
I have gone thru several and just don't like them. I've tried the magnet and they come apart with a hard step or if you trip. Sometimes it'll snag but I won't know until I'm getting pulled or worse I don't and keep walking...ripped a hole in my net doing that once. Tried the zinger style and never found any that last. When I bushwack I secure it with a carabiner...walked thru that in what I carry in my pack video. But on the stream I just keep it behind me. Have had to chase it down and might lose it one day...but it's maybe worth $20 and one of the reason I don't have an exxxpensive net!

@@LooknFishy all valid, I just like to keep everything attached to me those Orvis net keepers are pretty stout!! A little heavy for me but they work well and I use a magnet as well I have seen some guys use two magnets I may try that..

I once saw a cartoon about this, where 2 fishermen are walking thru brush and one has a net in his hand and the other has an elastic cord on his and says, "I used to forget where I laid my net, now it's always with me." His pal answers, "Yeah, well I got tired of mine smacking me in the head after being snagged on a branch." And the next image shows the guy's elastic cord stretched way out, and you know what's going to happen! Been there, done that! I've gone several ways myself, it's usually on my wader belt in front of me now.

I love your videos, love your content, love your commentary, enjoy everything except 1 thing. I really think you need to upgrade your battery, video equipment or whatever is the issue, it’s a shame that you have all these awesome videos and there’s just so much pixelation on the streams with moving water and fast movement things. Definitely takes away from your videos. I am a subscriber. The pixelation does not happen when you’re at the camp sites and talking. Just when you’re fishing and landing those beautiful trout in the net.

Thanks for the feedback! Get a comment like this every few weeks ...when I ask my friends if they are having any issues viewing my vids, they are not. I've even watched on my wife's phone to see myself but never experienced it. Which makes me think it's a internet issue but not an expert, just all I can come up with. I film with a gopro hero 8 in HD and export at a high quality. With all that said, I just decided to upgrade to a hero 10 and upgraded to the latest version of the editing software I use. Fingers crossed that helps!
