In all fairness yeah freshwater might seem more tricky but I hate freshwater fishing cause it’s a guessing game of what’s in the body of water if there’s anything in it, also it’s seems so desperate when all you’ll usually accomplish from freshwater is “crappie” bass and they are like two slivers of meat thick and y’all say “mmmmm that’s some good eating” when my happy ass can cast over at sea and pull myself a 27 inch redfish and go home and call it a day

I caught my very first fish on a safety pin hook with a piece of bubble gum when I was only six years old. I have never been able to identify that fish to this day. The closest I have come to identifying it, is when I saw a fish on the extinct list. That made me sad. It was caught in the intercoastal channel in Fort Walton Beach, Florida in 1958.

You created a mini feeding frenzy with the carcass over the side; the fish are literally hitting what they see hit the water. Hook and a gum wrapper (shiny or not) would work at that point.
