Catching GIANT Walleyes - Boundary Waters Area Ely Minnesota

Summer walleye fishing near the Boundary Waters - Ely, Minnesota. Video includes a few catches from our 7 day trip. Mix of live bait and artificials produced massive walleyes throughout the week, as well as some impressive smallmouth bass. Successful presentations included slip bobbers, crank baits, jigs & plastics, and crawler/leech harnesses pulled behind bottom bouncers and planer boards. All walleyes over 20 inches were released.

Good to see big fish caught in Burntside. I get there in early September stay on north arm. I catch good walleye but nothing huge yet. Had my line broke off one night in the narrows. Something big and mean.

That's definitely not b side. I know exactly what lake that is. I catch giants out there right after opener shallow, very shallow. The island gives it away, ha. Great video👍

Champagne, we used a pretty good variety. For trolling we were pulling shad raps and crawler harnesses tipped with leeches or crawlers behind bottom bouncers and planer boards. Also used slip bobbers with minnows and leeches. Caught a few pitching plastics as well. But live bait was most effective. All the big ones were released.

Hey I've never been up that way. Fished a ton on LOTW growing up on the Ontario side. Heading to Ely for the first time next weekend with my 4 boys all between 7-11. We are staying at Rock ridge. Got any pointers?
