Bloody great! My mate hooked a flatty that we thought during the fight was a gummy shark and when we first git a look we thought a banjo, but once we got a good look it was a meter plus flatly and when I netted, it was too big for the net and as it fell out backwards the hook caught the net and fair to say apart from the first f bombs it was silent for about 20 min. It was an absolute beast and a missed fish of a lifetime it's head was about a foot wide and it haunts me. One day I hope to get redemption

Wow , epic fish champion, I've got two packs of soft glides, and only used them once, as i need a heavier rod, to cast them properly, another great video mate, awesome work,

How proud would you be. I did a hardbody lure making course with Eruch from frequent flash. I know how proud I was getting a 30cm flathead on something I made. The other lure I did hooked something big that took the lot first 5mins of being in the water. Great stuff John. Can’t wait to nail some mid 50’s with the burner.

Amazing. Great promo for the lure. Can't wait to use it. Need a new rod for it. Went up and said Gday at AFTA. I love how exited to get from catching these big fish.

Another question John. Many of today's jig heads are painted. Would you paint the sinker you suggested to give the lure more freedom or would that clash with the lure colour and be more of a deterrent than a help. Thanks. Good luck in the comp.

Great Video John, Will place a order when I am back in NSW next week. You Mentioned you made you made a silent anchor , I dont have an electric motor on my quintrex fish about. Can you share what you made up? Think I need to give that a crack. Would help with my drifting in the lake.

John, do you do fishing guides/ charters ?

Hey John, when fishing prawn imitations for flathead do you notice a significant difference in catch rates between pvc and tpe baits? because tpe sits up off the bottom a bit unnaturally for a prawn, but pvcs tend to hit the bottom then topple over and bury into the sand, which i feel is more natural, what do you think about this?
@Ron-f1j3 ай бұрын
John, do you offer fishing charters

What knot are you using there John? It looks like a loop knot but much less steps / faster? 4:01

Anyone have any suggestions for a mid range spin rod that can cast heavier glides and swimbaits like this? Got a couple lures from 30-100 grams that I'd like to try out.

Hi John, Great video as always. My curiosity has been aroused recently as I have noticed you are always doing something with your electric remote, while talking, while playing fish, while landing fish. Is it because you are under power and you are adjusting your path of travel? Or spot locking? Something else?

U have learnt the basics but for one you should never use trebles they don't hook better and make it harder to dehook than a large single that has a better grab. My best is 120 cm
@antonb84223 ай бұрын
John boy. You’d better let Shimano and Diawa know to stop using trebles on their lures. After all what do they know 🤦♂️
