The reason you couldn't see her at first was that she was and is used to hiding well from large predators using the shadows and being able to blend in her surroundings. She could be laying beside the shore but if you can't see her you'll walk right by her and then she'll subtly dive where she know she can't be caught by the coon, bear, or eagle. She's been caught once before and her taking you to that rock where you thought you were stuck, she was waiting for you to get impatient and make a mistake where she could break free from a more inexperienced fisherman. Fish know just like other game when they're being hunted. Know your gear, know your waters, know your fish and respect for all. Very proud of you Jon and the Fisherman you've become. Enjoyed this video thoroughly. And always tight lines.
