Lol saltwater catfish are a pain in the butt. I’ve seen people get poked by one. It don’t feel great 😂. Great catch btw!

They are the bane of inshore fishing for sure. I have been spined by these and the gafftopsailfin ones, and luckily, I do not have a sensitivity to their venom.

We make sure to rinse them out really good afterwards but ya it has definitely ruined some of our inexpensive reels.

I got stabbed by one of those whole arm swelled and hurt so bad I hate saltwater cats not even worth showing anyone tbh so easy to catch and the worst thing to catch

It was Indian River Lagoon. Lagoon is a stretch of saltwater separated by a low sand bank.
