Between 2010 and 2017, a series of disappearances of vulnerable men in Toronto's gay Village raised suspicions of a serial killer. Bruce MacArthur, initially an unlikely suspect, was eventually linked to the cases through investigations into missing persons and online activities. His arrest in 2016 led to the discovery of human remains in planters at his home, shedding light on his crimes against the LGBTQ community.

Same with the second story about the escort. They keep saying she was forced to abc.. she was making $7000 a month, had a free place to live, free bmw, free groceries and dinners, clothes, surgeries etc.. she could’ve left whenever she wanted. After 3 months she’d have 30K in the bank and could go get a job as a waitress and support her child like millions of other people do every day without a 30K boost and all the other pieces . She stayed because she was greedy, she wasn’t smart with her money and spent it on useless shit cuz she already had everything paid for so the only thing she could spend her mon y on would be drugs, clothes and trips . She was using him as much as he was using her. She didn’t deserve to die but come on, stop acting like she was kidnapped and trapped in a basement forced to have sex with him to survive

Bruce wasn’t originally from Toronto. He moved to Toronto from a small town and it’s highly possible this guy has other victims out there. Some of them could be females before he started killing men because there’s lot’s of missing women in Canada especially aboriginal women and nobody knows where they are. Serial killers don’t usually start killing when they’re old. They usually start killing long before that. Who knows what this guy was doing when he was younger before he moved to Toronto.

Everyone questioning the only 25 years, need to understand the Canadian justice system. He will not be out, he has parole opportunity after 25 years and the odds of him being granted parole is slim to none. Other serial killers in Canada receive the same sentence and are never granted parole over the years. I wouldn't be surprised if he's labeled a dangerous offender which guarantees he'll never be released. Lastly consecutive life sentences does not exist in Canada.

It's not like he'll ever be granted parole, serial killers never are, they can also label him a dangerous offender which guarantees he'll never get out. @Dumbisaconcept68

Totally agree that homophobia isn't necessarily a catalyst for the murder of gay men. There are a lot of infamous killers who were homosexuals themselves Gacy, Dahmer, Bonin, Barella, Bowles, Corll, Eyler.... and on and on it goes, and that's stopping at the letter E. And that's just the U.S.! Most, if not all gay or female serial killers that I've researched, it's a control issue rather than self hatred or woman hate, Ed Kemper a notable exception. In Canada, we have a classification for serial killers known as “dangerous offender” status, basically it means they are psychopaths without remorse, they will almost certainly never be released or at least until they are no longer physically capable of causing any harm. There are only about a dozen or so criminals in the country with the status, so it’s basically a unappealable life sentence, no one will ever release him and he will will serve consecutive sentences meaning that he will serve 25x8 years, once he has done his first 25 he can appeal for parole. He’s never getting out, unless a series of judges make very poor decisions.

Because in the country of Canada, they’re justice system does not allow a sentence without the possibility of parole, regardless of the offense……..probably so they can stay politically correct and not offend the more liberal citizens who think that people who commit serious crimes should have a chance to be out in the free world again. So he will have a chance of parole after 25 years but the chances of him ever getting parole is pretty much zero….. he basically has a life sentence with a chance for parole after 25 years. It’s just the law Canada.

From what I gather by reading the other comments, it's to do with the way the Canadian legal system operates, on paper. Officially, their criminal justice code doesn't have a statute for life imprisonment like the American implementation of it exists. Unofficially though, the parole board is going to just keep stamping "DENIED" on this guy's documents before he even comes in the room at his parole consideration hearings for the rest of his life, which in practice basically results in the same thing: he stays in prison until the day he dies because he's never granted parole. Personally, I'm not sure I buy that operational doctrine, but as long as the parole board plays along and never seriously thinks twice about ever freeing the disgusting chickenshit, then I guess it's "good enough".

@@TheShockwaveDragon We have a similar system in Australia. There's a case going on at the moment for two guys who committed multiple murders together - one appealed and was denied, the other one never bothered to appeal. The crime is now 30+ years old - it is highly unlikely they'll ever be released.

I really am struggling to find sympathy for Georgina they were both scum. Extorting and blackmailing people is often not a good idea it ends in this very result. The doctor trying to pretend she didn't consent because she was a 24 year old adult that willingly went into sex work is ridiculous, she chose that path before he came along to make easy money from grotesque men and wanted to take advantage of men and happened to come upon a psychopath. Did she deserve it? No, do I feel bad for her? No. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Bruce MacArthur looks like anyone’s grandfather, father and neighbor one could count on. When I see videos like this, it reminds me of my younger days, I think about how lucky I had been for many years. I was footloose and fancy-free traveling all over the country, even went overseas for a time. At that time I actually had my passport stolen, took me sometime to get it back really afraid I was in trouble, I did get it back thankfully. I really had no fear and I trusted everyone…scary! Well, scary now 😮 It’s so important young people watch their backs when off on their own…When I was 18, I had a life changing violent crime happen to me, I almost lost my life. I won’t go into it, but only if I would have done things differently it would have never happened. I will say this, the man who hurt me spent 35 yrs in prison. Thankfully!

It always bothers me that people are being put in boxes. Gay, different color, religion, profession, etc. When comes the time that we realize we are all the same? Does it matter that you are indigenous, gay, poor, black, prostitute, etc? No. We are all still humans with the same wishes, hopes and dreams. All of us want to be happy and loved. And we all want to love and be kind. I'm straight and white. Sounds easy for me to say, right? Well, yeah. If I didn't have a certain profession. I fit in one of the boxes and no, I'm not open to it to my family, friends and neighborhood. People judge and people push you away. I do know what it feels like to not be accepted and look at weird. As if I steal someone's partner or jump on anyone I see. Heck no. It is work, not some weird date. And drugs? No, I don't do drugs. I don't live in a tent and I am not low on the social ladder either. I have a university degree and live a normal life. Still, I feel like I am being pushed into boxes I don't fit in. Where I don't belong. That is why I don't tell. And that is also why I can fully understand all of these people. They are not taken seriously, because they are gay or trans. Does it matter? It is not a lump of flesh that takes oxygen and by accident walks and talks like a human. It IS a human. Are they in a dangerous environment? Yes. But not because they like to live dangerous. It is because some assh*les make it dangerous. Because they cannot accept that we are all humans. "A Jew, Muslim, Christian, Hindu and an Atheist walk in a bar and have a drink. They laugh, talk and have a great time. They become friends. No, it is not a joke. This is what happens if you're not an assh*le." I hope all souls rest in peace and their loved ones can find a way to move on and live with the violent deaths of their loved ones. No matter what the reason, murder is always a horrible thing to deal with. I hope one day we can all live in peace.
