One of my favorite methods at delanny in may at the south lake in the shallows east side, along with the Platte river special hatch.

Can you please demonstrate slowly and clearly how you make the various shapes you use. Please include how big the blob of bait is. Where and how the hook sticks out of the powerbait, and any particular favorite shapes that are most successful. Is there a web site or You Tube source by European Powerbait users who you learned from? I am a disabled senior who can only fish stocked ponds that are ADA accessable so i dont really have alot of choice of location. The trout are 9 to 10 inches heavily stocked during spring and summer. I live in The Atlanta area and love to catch and release so I've just switched to barbless hooks. Im really hoping your method will help me to not kill so many fish. Thanks so much for your informational vids. They are wonderful.

I actually press the Power Bait ball into a concave spoon shape. Trout will nibble on it a time or two before hammering it. Again, lip hook and not swallowed. Good series Chad.

Powerbait? I'm all about catching fish, I have never tried any bait but willing to give it a try.

If you mold and retrieve it like we demonstrate, you'll do well without having fish swallow your hook.

Wonder if you could mold this stuff onto a jighead. Maybe use a trout magnet split tail kinda shape. Maybe be good to turn a bottom dragging snag/hang up machine into a slow fall lure easy to keep off the bottom with a slow retrieve. All theory of course! Great video thanks for the idea. I hate bait n wait fishing and refuse to do it so never tried power bait. Will give this a go!

Absolutely you can mold it onto a jig head…we’ve been doing so this summer and fishing it like a tube jig. Works fantastic and still no deep-hooking.

What is your setup and it looked you used a spilt shot above your powerbait very informative video

We've tried the technique with and without a split shot above the hook. In general, we found that the smallest amount of weight we can still cast is best. A "casting bubble" can be used instead of weight, and we also had success trailing the formed Powerbait 2' behind a spoon, using the spoon as an attractor.

The easy way 😂 come to Los Angeles and try to catch at a local regional park. In the last couple years, when they stock these pond, there will be a group of guys every few feet. I tried this technique at a few spots, nothing.

Never fished in CA at all, but the place this fishing was filmed gets plundered all year long, including under the ice. I'd suspect all those people are simply spooking fish, and spooked fish rarely bite.
