How exactly is she one of the saddest in the show? She was Pink’s old pearl, and then somehow or other, she lost her eye, went to White, blah blah blah. Not really sad. In fact, it’s pretty ambiguous and not very well-thought-out. I don’t like her, and I definitely hate how much the fan base gawks over her like she’s some kind of real character with depth. If you wanna feel bad for someone, feel bad for Pearl or something. I guess my question is, what do you actually like about her? Because she doesn’t have a personality, and her backstory’s okay, and her design is pretty average. She has one line and all her characterization comes from dumbass comics fans wrote about the character. So, I don’t blame him for hating White Pearl. In fact, I kinda hate her too.

It's so nice that the Diamonds DO try to be better people and leaders but there is NO message in the narrative that says Steven - and especially the Gems the Diamonds subjugated - had to forgive them. I'm so happy you did this, the show tackles a lot of societal issues and most fans love the writers for it, there's a lot of LGBTQ+ hints and parallels, as well as mentions of general unacceptance of minorities or different people, it has a mature and healthy way of handling problems that isn't too overwhelming but it's also not too simple and cliché, it talks about the issues and shows a way to tackle them as a suggestion, then the characters seem to slowly get over the situation after a few episodes to even a few seasons, and ends on a note that anyone can be unhealthy and manipulating if they have issues, and you can help and teach anyone hateful to understand or at least respect different people and minorities.

At 10:36- This scene always reminds me of one of my personal favorite lines from the show: when Bismuth tells Steven "You don't have to be Rose Quartz. You can be something better. You can be you." Something he has always feared/felt was that he was some piece of Rose/Pink, that his gem half was her, and if he wasn't half human he would be her because he has her gem. But Pink Steven proves that he is wholly Steven. He has always been Steven, not Pink Diamond, not Rose Quartz but his own unique, powerful, a beautiful person.

Something cool about the last episode. The rule of the show is that it is always Steven's perspective. They never show anything that Steven isn't seeing. When it's a POV shot it's always Steven. When Steven's gem is ripped out and forms the pink steven, the POV shot is split in two because they are only Steven together. He is not human or gem. Showing only one of their POV would break the rule.

The thing about the diamonds is they are an allegory for family. Family that doesn’t accept you but you try your best with. They dont respect Steven’s pronouns or new name but overtime they do. They don’t respect the imperfections of any family member but overtime Steven teaches them the value of just being there for family. The finale really drives this home, they make it all about their trauma when in reality they cause him trauma and they owe him so much
