Cammy! I hope I have your attention! You and Lizzy have done the WORK for your farm. Don’t ever think your online and merch stuff hasn’t been HARD WORK! You have EARNED the RIGHT to own that farm! Every last stone. You both did the WORK. Whether or not it was physical back breaking work or in your head or with your fingers, it is still hard and stressful labour. Don’t disrespect yourself so much. You both deserve to have ownership. It’s extra special that you have history there and know the previous owner so well. Now the problem is to keep the faith, the strength and mindset to keep it going! You can do it with Lizzy and all three kidlets. Life is never easy but it is and will be so much fun for you all. It will be challenging and always changing. It will be stressful, you will both grow more gray hairs, or maybe loose some….but that’s what life’s about isn’t it? I met you and your family online when the Brocks visited you and have followed you faithfully since. I wish you and Lizzy the very best. I’m so excited to watch your futures unfold. 💋 Therese from western 🇨🇦

Cammie, I totally agree and was going to say the same thing, you and Lizzie deserve this, after what you have done...also, if your dad had not passed, and you had not taken up Sheep Shearing to ''grieve'' that loss...How would you have met the gorgeous Sheep Shearer known as Lizzie...the Legand that is, pure Woman...strength, compassion, love, motherhood, having boundries, taking no crap, giving good vibes, as well as giving you a hard time when you need it, she is everything a woman is...

Great podcast…enlightening…get married and just have a big barbecue… and dance…we did it, only cost us $3000., but 28 yrs ago…we were engaged 12 ½ years, should have done it yrs before, due to taxes…look at it now, why’d we do that? Wishing you nothing but happiness, just remember…you have to live somewhere, this way…it’s your own, not paying someone’s else’s mortgage…❤️🇨🇦

I wish you ALL the happiness, blessings, and prosperity. One day we'll be watching and Jock will be a teenager and we'll all have watched the kids grow!! Ps,.. please don't shoot a dog!!!

A great podcast and it is mind blowing how much everything costs! Can't believe you have a water meter! Rainwater harvesting would be a good plan. I love seeing Lizzies films of your family. Jock and Angus remind me of when my boys were that age. What a fabulous childhood they are having. If anyone is going to make it work , you will. So many of us are looking forward to seeing the farm progress. ☺☺

Rainwater harvesting is an absolute must. With their huge collection areas they should never see a water bill. All you need are inexpensive but very large storage tanks and a good filtration system.

I was so thrilled to bits when I watched your video about buying your very own farm, but then you went and topped it by proposing to your lovely Lizzie. You have worked very hard to be where you are now. I started watching you fairly early on long before you met Lizzie, you were still working at a full time job with the police. Don’t ever underestimate yourself, you have done this by working hard and telling us all about it in your videos, then starting the merchandise and setting up FED. Then there’s Landward when they spotted you were a good presenter. You deserve to have your farm. I will also be very glad that you will be able to lamb under cover which must be a huge improvement after lambing last year, I really feared for your mental state last year with the weather and losing so many lambs, it was an awful time I’m really looking forward to watching you videos from the farm My daughter and her chap didn’t want to get married either, saw no point. However they realised legally there could be issues financially and legally, so they decided to have a civil partnership (now available for heterosexual couples).

Cammy, it may seem overwhelming with the cost of setting up and the purchase of a farm. Once you get settled and your feet are on the ground, you and Lizzie will be fine. You will budget on your monthly costs and reassess how and where you may need to shift. As scary it may be, think how exciting the future you and Lizzie will have as the kids grow up. Keep these chats, vlogs, and podcasts. I love all that you share. Iona champion you on, even though you tease her. Your engagement has put a smile on my face ever since your announcement. Again, thanks for sharing.

Farming calls on just about every skillset known to humans. It's why most of history's great inventors have some farming in their background. There are so many interrelated challenges, that finding solutions are a constant demand on your time. Knowledge of animal husbandry isn't enough to be successful, unless you can afford to hire in plumbers, carpenters, welders, drivers, crop specialists, mechanics, etc. Before long Cammy will become a "Jack of All Trades" and eventually a "Master of Some". It's a huge challenge that I'm sure Cammy and Lizzie are up to. But if all that weren't a big enough hurdle, they are commited to video record the process. Astonishing entertainment and educational value!

I found all the detail about buying the farm and the ensuring costs of running absolutely fascinating and mind blowing. I wish you and Lizzie all the best in this venture. Have you considered the possibility of using a small area for caravans? This is refered to as a Certified Site via "Camping and Caravan Club". Just 5 pitches, nicely spaced apart and all you need to provide is a water source, ie, one tap and a toilet waste point. An electrical pick up point would be also greatly beneficial. .......Just a thought.

Having even more apartments you can rent out on the farm - AND you promoting that on your sheep game channel will pay your mortgage every month - people would LOVE to come stay there and follow you for a day or two at all times of the year…👍🏻 You will have a steady income and maybe even help during lambing time - do NOT underestimate that part - you would probably be able to make more cash that way than “milking” 🤪

Congrats on the farm!! The financial logistics of buying a farm from nothing is insane! I'm on the same train as you just one stop behind. Will be interesting to see what your accountant says about the 90k tax bill, but I'm fairly confident/selfishly optimistic that you won't have near that to pay, the 70k SDLT and additional dwelling sounds about spot on though. We also have a 4 person holiday let, we get about 45% occupancy year average with the summer being mental busy and winter fairly steady dying off from Jan-Mar. We have recently put ours to a 2 night min stay as doing the changovers ourselves on a string of one nighters was grim and definitely not financially worth it. Look forward to following your journey more. I absolutely love the real insights you give your viewers.
