Mr. Nguyen, when I listened to your story, I have so much respect and admiration for all of your accomplishments. You are so humble, grace, and good heart. In 1999, I received a scholarship from a group called Asian Pacific Islanders in Washington, DC. I still remembered it vividly, and you are one of the contributor for my scholarship. I still have a picture with you and Jackie Chan. Thank you Nguyen for paying it forward. Your contributions helped student like myself to thrive and attended college with free. Thank you once again, and I wish you all the best in life.

I'm from Rockport-Fulton. Dat is a hometown hero here. As a Christian, a Rockport native, and the dad of an Aggie, my family and I are so very proud to have this man as a representative. He is as humble and kind as he appears to be in this interview. My son and I got to meet him this past year when he gave a speech for our history center, and he was super kind. My son got to take a picture with him and snagged my new A&M hat for Dat to sign. 😁

What a great interview, great man, great example, great Aggie! I can relate. I grew up in Southeast Texas as the only Asian family in a small town. It was tough at times, but our parents told us, "everyone has challenges... As long as you view yourself as a victim, you'll never get ahead...". Thank you for interviewing Dat! Gig'em!

There is a book about A&M, one chapter starts with Lavar Arrington being shocked that A&M was called Linebacker U. He didn’t ask what players played at A&M? When Dat’s name came up, Lavar said Dat is a baller!! Game respects game! What book was that?
