Hopefully they will have something available for less than $5k. They have been selling their commercial receivers for a lot. I will believe it when and if I see it. I never really understood why it was necessary to destroy the old but I guess Walmart offered a lot for the factory site in Sevierville.

Bravo Ten-Tec! They may not have all the glitz and glitter of those fancy SDR's, but they WORK! I personally own about 8 ATU's and I can vouch that my favorite and most efficient one is a Ten-Tec. Very good engineering from this company. 👍

Walt, Thanks for the video, you got a little more information from Mike that I did about the new Omni 8. One thing he did for me was pull out his phone and for about 10 minutes showed off the plant. All the equipment work stations etc. Even a metal brake to build the Chassis for the Alpha line and the Ten Tec line. It took a 20 ton crane to lift and set into the building. The guy has a ton invested. He is the one picking up the pieces after others trashed the company. He has invested more than I can imagine with no return YET. BUT the one thing he said to me several times was "Don't buy anything here. Save your money till fall. Then PLEASE buy a TEN TEC!!!!!" That really made my day. I asked Fall or winter or??? He said FALL!!! His big challenge now is not parts it is people. He needs people willing to work and is hiring. Or trying to. Can't wait to see the NEW Ten Tec go into business!!! 73 Jon

Always liked ten-tec. On a side note; I hope they add some budget gear to the line-up. That goes for all the other companies in the hobby. For younger hams just coming in along with this rotten economy, we need budget products more than ever to keep the hobby alive. Not just qrp but products to grow with. Just throwing that out there. Another good one here. Cheers. 👍

The Ten Tec Argonaut VI (10 watts) was the first radio I owned after I got my license. I Bought it NEW OLD STOCK from a friend who let it out of his collection when he saw I had the need but not the funds for a new fancy radio. I Made my first USA HF contact with that radio with some homemade dipoles, then moved on to Europe, South America, Japan, Australia ...you all know how it goes. When the Wife got her License, the game changed. The Ten Tec got installed into our Go Kit and rode there for Field Day for several years. It now lives in a Grab n Go kit where I use it mostly as a QRP rig wen the occasion arises and just turning down the ""bigger radio" to 10 watts just seems like cheating. If Ten Tec re-introduced the Argonaut VI again, I''d buy one ! Good Luck in 2024 and the future .

Still have 2 Ten Tec radios. Still use them. The tuner is an interesting design if somewhat optimistically priced. They have to compete with plenty of other manufacturers in that market. The 2 x 4CX1500 amp competes with Acom etc. Good to see Ten Tec back.

Well knowing the recent history, I will believe it when I see it. Personally, they should come out with a upgraded Eagle since more ops are going portable and POTA can be a driving force to have a great POTA rig and boost sales. I use an Eagle for POTA and is fantastic in the field. They must look at the market, and come back into the ham community intelligently.

Ten-Tec owner since 80s (Argo 525D) and still have my Argo VI. So how does this guy compete with the Icom 7300 or even a Yaesu FT DX10, which cost in the low thousand dollar range. His Omni 8, that he’s not taking about, needs better features than those two radios and it’s hard to believe he can compete in the current environment. Talk’s cheap but the radio may not be.
