What the Lord showed me while praying at 4 in the morning is that half the church is in bed with the culture and almost the other half is fleeing from the culture, hunkered down in their church bldg and praying the Lord come soon n rescue us from this mess we be in. We r in this mess because churches r not engaging the culture, being salt n light in this world. I believe as do others it's because of bad eschatology that has a poor exegesis of especially apocalyptic passages in Mt, Mk, Lk, and Rev. What must be attributed to the 1st century is placed at the end of the church age thus causing much angst and fear. If we exegete properly we come up with great promises as seen in Psa 2 and Psa 110 & Isa 2 and 42 and make desiciples of all nations, thy kingdom come on earth as in heaven, he is reigning till all his enemies r under his feet. So many verses that give us hope in the midst of the storm till the whole earth is christianized and his glory fill the earth. Thankfully he is opening many eyes and will either bring reformation or persecution, either way the church is purified and grows in holiness with all nations coming to worship at the Mt of the Lord. We r living in amazing times and pray the sleepy church wakes up and does it's work in the vineyard.

In the bible Jesus said a man must be born again or he will not go to Heaven. A lot of people think this means they should merely believe in him. We see so often in our world today an abrupt end to people's lives. And it becomes increasingly clear that when we die nothing else matters aside from our relationship with Jesus Christ. That is the reality of God's creation whether we like it or not. This life though engulfed with distraction is nothing more than a test. He is the creator and we are merely his creation, Here to live on his terms and happily at that. John 3:16 Says for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever would believe on him would not perish but have everlasting life. But John 2: 23 says Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. One must square how one verse says to believe and be saved. And one verse says he did not commit himself to everyone who believes. It's crucial to think about these things because they are Heaven and hell issues. Jesus said 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. This is a clear warning from Jesus for everyone who reads the bible. We cannot rest on our laurels and assume all is well. Any follower of Jesus, or any disciple or learner of Jesus has come to know this as a serious reality that we in fact will never die. We will spend absolutely forever in one of two locations Heaven or hell. The difference in these destinies are stark. The difference comes down to seriousness about faith in Jesus as well as actions. We see time and time again it is the doers of God's will that are justified. Not simply the sayers. This is not a critique it is simply an urging to take the matters serious as we all know eternity is coming. It has nothing to do with demanding perfection it is only saying be absolutely sure you are ready for that day. We can look to the bible to find evidences of salvation: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; So one question would be have you become a new creature? My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. The second question would be are you disciplined by God? Has God scourged you? Bc when we talk about a relationship with Jesus we are talking rather literally. There is discipline and there is scourging upon entering the Kingdom of God. Can you imagine being scourged by the creator of the Universe? But if you are in fact a child of God on the way to Heaven you have been. You will have repented and mourned over your past sinful life and even present failures. Hence Jesus' sermon on the mount saying Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted. And blessed are you who are hungry now for you shall be full. But woe to you who laugh now for you will weep and mourn. And woe to you who are full for your will hunger. You see when you become a Christian the Holy Ghost is your prosecutor and he will teach you how to live and he will show you how bad you failed before he received you. John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The Holy Ghost either prosecutes us now and we weep and course correct or the Holy Ghost will prosecute us in the next life and that will be eternal punishment. Which is why the bible says there will be weeping and knashing of teeth where the fire is never quenched and the worm dieth not. In hell our conscience will accuse us for all eternity that we missed the mark and we did not fulfill our responsibility to God while we were alive. The bible says don't walk as fools but as wise redeeming the time bc the days are evil. But understanding what the will of the Lord is. Do you know what the will of the Lord is?19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. I plead with everyone to be sure you are saved. People say "they’ve been saying he was coming back forever" but this verse answers to that 2 Peter 3:9 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The bible states clearly the Lord is ready the avenge the evil doer and sadly for who-ever has not fully come to Christ will be in hell with the worst of the worst unfortunately. They will forgo eternal bliss. 10“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and you do not understand these things? 11Truly, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, and yet you people do not accept our testimony. 12If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?… God sends forth his messengers to urge people to take heed and repent and come fully to Christ Luke 16:22 the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. If we truly come to Christ he will reveal his will to us which is plain in scripture. But if we continue to ignore the gospel message we are essentially rejecting the sacrifice of God’s only son on the cross for our sins and our punishment will be profound and will never end. I pray that everyone will examine themselves to be sure they are really in the faith. What else really matters? Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life Reply

How do we become a new creation? By the same means in which the first creation came to be: Gen 1:1-2. By water and the Holy Spirit. Being born again by waters sanctified by the Spirit, God the Father thru Jesus in the Jordan. This is why Jesus chides Nicodemus and says, “you are the leader of Israel and you do not understand these things?”. Christ came onto the scene at the Jordan changing John’s baptism of repentance into the baptism of the new creation; as Paul tells us, in baptism we die with Christ’s death and and are raised to new life in his resurrection. Baptism is the living water referred to at the well with the Samaritan woman. It’s no coincidence that Jesus uses the baptismal jars at the wedding of Cana and no coincidence that the waters and Spirit as the dove signify a cleaning of sin for Noah and that the Holy Spirit as the pillar of fire and the waters of Red Sea save the people of Israel. You, Nicodemus are the leader and do not understand these things?

When it comes to Calvinism, it’s a very polarizing theology. People on both sides of the debate will point fighters at the other, claiming that they are preaching a false Gospel. Even organizations like The Gospel Coalition was founded under the premise that Calvinism is what they are referring to when they use the word “Gospel” in their name... although we all know now they are nothing more than a progressive, socialist Marxist coalition of anything BUT Gospel proclaimers. I digress... The thing that I’ve come to realize, is that no matter your view of Calvinism, properly defined, you aren’t compromising the Gospel. Think about it... the Gospel is simply put: we are sinners who deserve eternal punishment in hell for breaking God’s commands (well, there goes John Piper’s “gospel”), but because God loves us, He sent His only Son, Jesus, to live a sinless, perfect life to then pay the penalty for our sins, raising from the dead three days later, conquering death and proving that He is, in fact, God incarnate. We can then place our faith in Christ and receive eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that salvation is “by grace through faith, not of works.” This is what makes Christianity different from all other religions... we are saved in spite of ourselves, not because of ourselves! We don’t earn our salvation. Our works have absolutely no bearing on our justification/salvation. Only the work of Christ on the cross does. Whether you believe in Calvinism has no bearing on the Gospel you believe in. Here’s why: Calvinism is the belief about how God works through our salvation behind the scenes, for lack of a better phrase. For example, whether you believe in limited or unlimited atonement has no bearing on the Gospel you believe in and doesn’t change how God actually works it all out. Our belief in how God works out our salvation is not the Gospel. It doesn’t invalidate saving faith. It’s important to understand and discuss. But it’s not the Gospel. We can be wrong about what God does, and it literally changes nothing about the Gospel, practically speaking. The vitally important issue is the Gospel itself... what we have to understand to be saved. Calvinism does not have to be believed to be saved. It also does not have to be rejected (coming at it from the other side). A good example of this is gravity. We can have any number of explanations for it. But there’s only one right answer. Our belief in how gravity works has no bearing on whether it actually works or how it works. Same thing with the doctrines of Grace. Whether we believe in election or not has no bearing on whether it’s true or not. It’s simply how God works. It’s out of our control. Where we start to get into dangerous territory is when we redefine terms. We see this happening with the final point in Calvinism: the perseverance of the saints. This is getting redefined as Lordship Salvation by many prominent Calvinist leaders. This is extremely dangerous. The proper understanding of the perseverance of the saints is actually the preservation of the saints by God. “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28) In other words, it’s the belief in “once saved always saved.” You can’t lose your salvation. Once you place your faith in Christ, that cannot be undone. God will protect and preserve your salvation for all eternity. It has no bearing on your behavior. It’s all reliant on Christ’s work on the cross. “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) What we’ve seen happening is turning the perseverance of the saints into an extreme Lordship Salvation. The way it’s promoted is that if you are truly persevering (or are actually saved) you won’t sin continually. The problem with that is that we are all sinners, both before and after salvation. So the question becomes, “How much sin is too much sin?” It then becomes a subjective standard that has not root in objectivity. The other angle that is often pushed is that “no Christian would ever commit THAT sin!” Here’s the problem: there’s no scriptural support for that. Many true believers have egregious sins. Those sins do not invalidate their justified state. Why? Because they works aren't what saved them in the first place! To say that their sins invalidate their salvation is saying that Christ's work on the cross was not enough... which is pure heresy! So what ends up happening is everyone becomes “fruit inspectors”, taking a look at your life and judging your salvation based on these arbitrary standards. John Piper explains it this way: “We are not justified through sanctification. Let me say it again: we are not justified through sanctification. But we are finally saved through sanctification...” This flies in the face of Ephesians 2:8-9. Romans 3:28 also explicitly makes this claim: “For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.” Once you are justified, you are declared righteous because God attributes to us the righteousness of Christ, thus eternally securing your salvation. We cannot separate justification from salvation as guys like John Piper do. Sanctification is the process in which the Holy Spirit gradually makes us more Christ-like over the course of our life. It’s a response to salvation, not a requirement for salvation. Plus, everyone is sanctified at a different rate. For some it’s more immediate. For others it’s way more gradual. Who are we to judge the timing and speed of God? Additionally, we cannot state who is or is not saved simply by their behavior. So when guys like Justin Peters place these kinds of conditions on baby Christians, it can warp their view of the Gospel. Why in the world would you tell a baby Christian that you better act right or your salvation isn’t real? Come on! This happens way too much in the church! We must remember the simplicity of the Gospel. We are saved by faith, not by works. We are saved because of Christ’s sacrifice, not because of anything we do. We are saved in spite of ourselves, not because of ourselves. We need to have a proper understanding of our theology. The preservation of the saints is the simple fact that once we place our faith in Christ, our salvation is eternally secure. Rest easy in that. You can have assurance of your salvation! Don’t let Pharisees inspect your fruit from afar. Don't let them change that doctrine into something that God never intended... a works based "gospel"! Grow in your faith in Christ and rest in His promise that your salvation is secure, not because of yourself, but because of God. That should be reassuring. The Gospel is simple. Don’t let these evangelical elite complicate things like the Pharisees did in Jesus’ time.

I think you would do well to study to show yourself approved before you type a long response on here calling out people like Piper who are sound theologians, albeit he did flop on the woke stuff a bit….you are asserting and assuming so much in this long post. Have you studied under a local pastor and submitted to his teaching?…next question is…if yes, was said pastor well read either self educated or educated in a solid seminary or even better educated seriously and trained up through a local church. Basically, what I see from your post is that you are proud and ignorant of serious theology. You are right about some things in your post but just be very careful you don’t become a theological loner that thinks he can rebuke solid faithful pastors that you simply disagree with on secondary issues of the faith and practice. We would all do well to submit to our local pastors and let them form us more than the internet pastors, although I am glad for the online ministries.

How can a 5-Point Calvinist be a "Reformed Evangelical" By definition Calvinists DON"T reach out to the lost, they don't TRY to bring anyone to God. Their preaching isn't genuine. In their hearts they know it is a waste of time and will change no one. Their preaching it as a robot following instructions.. Calvinism is: God arranges all things by his sovereign counsel, in such a way that individuals are born, who are doomed from the womb to certain death and are to glorify him by their destruction.( John Calvin Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 23, Paragraph 6 “…salvation is freely offered to some while others are barred from access to it.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 21, Paragraph 5) There is NO Gospel in Calvinism ! Only fatalism. He and all calvinists are under this judgement! 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 1 Timothy 5:20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. The true Gospel of salvation is Good news to all of mankind. 1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 Timothy 2 : 3-6 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. Acts 2 :21And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise belongs to you and your children and to all who are far off-.... John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Truth in love

Just keep studying the Bible, pray and submit to your local pastor. Reformed position is not fatalistic in the sense you believe at all. Many great evangelists have been deeply Calvinistic and would affirm the 5 points of Calvinism. The Bible teaches the doctrine of compatibility: Gods sovereignty(holds all things together by the word of his power, decreed all things before the foundation of the world etc) and man’s responsibility(man has agency and responsibility and can be righteously judged by God and held to account for obedience or disobedience and man’s faith is truly his and comes from him and he must have faith and trust in Christ. If you allow the Bible to leave these mysteries together snd not pit them against each other you will likely start to see Calvinist systematic theology is a lot more Biblical than maybe you think. Calvinist preachers believe as they preach Christ is there regenerating and giving men grace as the word is preached so they might be able to exercise agency and place faith in Christ. Arminians will believe as they preach this unbiblical made up prevenient grace is given so that men might be able to choose Christ. Both systems try and account for the mystery of Gods grace and sovereignty and man’s responsibility. Which is taught in the Bible? I see nothing of prevenient grace?

@@seanbyham7838 Your just saying the same Calvinist BS as the Muslims, Mormon's Jehovah Whiteness and Catholics spew out. Big flowery words to confuse and sound intelligent! If a child cannot understand the Good News Gospel presented you know it is from the deceiver SATAN. You say " Submit to your local pastor"! That is where you fall. We are to call NO MAN Rabbi or teacher. Christians have the Christ in them and the Holy Spirit is their teacher. These deformed 5-point demonic Calvinist pastors are satan's agents not teachers of the truth. Calvinist seem wise but have become intellectual fools spending all their time in intellectual gymnastics try to defend a cult they don't even know they are in. The Cult methods used by the followers of John Calvin are as follows. If you take every time the scriptures says "World" which is 20 times and twist and force it to say Elect If you take every time the scriptures says "Whoever" which is 16 times and twist and force it to say Elect If you take every time the scriptures says "Whosoever" which is 16 times and twist and force it to say Elect If you take every time the scriptures says "All" which is 16 times and twist and force it to say Elect If you take every time the scriptures says "Everyman" which is 6 times and twist and force it to say Elect Then yes Calvin got it right. and Reformed Theology is true! WINK WINK Even the cult of the Mormons and the Jehovah Witnesses could take twisting lessons from the Deformed Theology pretending to be Christianity. TRUTH IN LOVE 1 Timothy 2:3-6 3 This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who wants EVERYONE to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom FOR ALL-the testimony that was given at just the right time. Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. So CHOOSE life, so that you and your descendants may live.
