For those wondering why he keeps running once the fish is on, I wondered this too. Its to keep the line tight. Bigger fish can break the line if the there is slack for them to bite through. It also (helps) prevent another fish from stealing your catch while you reel it in.

That’s not why lmaooo. It’s bc if the line is slack the hook can pull easier. And wahoo change direction really quick so if you drove away from them it’s harder for then to run towards you and shake hooks. Not for any of the reasons you’re saying

In all my years, ive never heard that you have to keep trolling in order to keep a fish of any sort on the hook or to keep from cutting line. I assumed it was to keep the lines on other rods working, in case another fish hooks up

If you keep speed to prevent other lines from tangling it’s hard to clear your lines and fight a fish solo it also prevents slack from occurring wahoo are extremely fast and if they run at you the motor will help you
