Hey Robbie 👈 Thanks for the Childhood memories, getting off cut meat from the local Butcher, riding mini bikes from Dam to Dam catching Yabbies, picking Mushrooms and sending Ferrets down Bunny holes catching Underground Mutton and getting 2Bob a pair from the Butcher... Those were the Days!!!!👍👍👍👍

Nice work mate, I love the meat and string technique! You're right about it being illegal to add a hook, it becomes a fishing set line once you put a hook on it. Great catch on the one that jumped out of the net!!

Great use for crappy off-cut steak (healthy habits👍) converting it into yummy yabbies. Thanks for reminding us about all the fun we had stringing yabbies. There’s a generation of us that grew up without nets (including scoop nets - that’s fancy) but still caught enough for a Sunday feed in the heat of a summer arvo. A bit of string, stinky meat and a couple of mates and we were catching yabbies and making memories that hadn’t faded. Thanks for sharing Love your work Healthy habits

Thanks so much Moo Moo. I'm trying so hard to lose weight, 1 bad habit at a time. I never thought I would be able to cut the fat off my steak but have been doing it for about a month now. I've impressed myself. I still have plenty of bad habits but slowly I am breaking then down.

Takes me back to growing up in the central west! My brothers and I used to love having our cotton line on a string with our chip scoops while dad had the drop nets out. Always a big competition who could catch the most and whoever got lucky enough to get the sweet spot would be getting 5 or 6 a scoop and shit it in for the day.

I laughed at the epic net fail at 5:33! If you had a longer net handle you could reach over and scoop them from the back as they always take off that way if they let go. I used to do this a lot when younger and always found that caught more (I'm sure you know that!). Regardless of the result, it was great fun and that was a good haul!

@@robbiefishing 😂🤣😂🤣 You are welcome Mate. I am more than happy to do it. You have turned the “Super Like” on which is like throwing your bate out there. It will be interesting to see how many pick it up to show their pleasure. I will leave it longer than an “Impatient Check” and ask you how it is going one day. I have bought six Pyramid Yabby Nets and a high pressure gas cooker with a 20 litre drum from Anaconda today. Hopefully the Yabbies will get hungry this summer. Last year with our massive flood in the Murray River they were prolific. I know how well mannered and consistent you are with your replies, but please only get back to me when it is suitable to you. I am retired and my time is my own with no other responsibilities. 👌👍😊

I have a good yabbie dam I seem to catch heaps but all under bait size or to small to eat only get the odd big one, kinda sucks but atleast I know the dam is healthy

Still fun to catch them mate. This often happens when people keep all the big ones. Or it could be too overpopulated with little ones.

Looks like you had way too much fun. Do you still give your blue tounge yabbies?
@robbiefishing
@robbiefishing 3 жыл бұрын
haha I sure did have way too much fun. I haven't given him one for a while. I have a shingleback in there with him and he doesn't eat yabbies so I tend to feed them both meal worms or fruit.

Love ya work mate .. do you ever use yabbies as cod bait?? Have never really seen you use them for cod bait?
@robbiefishing
@robbiefishing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Corey. I use to years ago. I did a couple of times last year but didn't do any good. They are a good cod bait, but not as good as cheese. LOL I think a really big yabby has a greater chance of catching a big cod though.
