I totally get what you say about taking enough time to produce something good - for the longest time I could not go to bed until something was finished. Looking back now, I wish I would have pressured myself less to be fast because the pieces I did had so much potential, but I didn't give them the time they needed. By the way, I also tend to grab different kinds of books depending on the time of the day. During the night I gravitate towards historical reads, eerie & moody ones. Currently, it's the Tenant of Wildfel Hall by Anne Brontë!

It’s nice to know you relate 🥺❤️ and ooh very cool read, I haven’t heard of this book by Brontë, it sounds good just from the title~

Thanks for highlighting used books. There is a large used bookstore in my city and I really enjoy spending times going through there books and finding ones that are out of print. Also my local Goodwill and Salvation Army have great selections. It feels satisfying to give gently used books (even ones that are more expensive online or in regular brick stores) a second home and life🙂

I am also a very slow reader and often have to reread sentences multiple times to understand them. Discovered this year that I'm mildly dyslexic. Made it through all those years of school including grad school before I was diagnosed! Really explains so much about the atypical way my brain works.

watched this while i enjoyed my apple juice and i must say that i especially love the part where you finished the heart-shaped vegan white chocolate because you were (almost) closing your eyes and you were carrying bambi and the two of you just seemed like in different worlds doing your own thing but at the same time, you're both in the same room, on the same chair. i don't knooooow it was just so cuuuute!!! and the books!!! kinda had this vision of me enjoying inferno by dan brown after my pile of school works. this video was very refreshing, thank you so much!

the books is much deeper and full of class analysis, the series is more of the love story in itself although also good. rooney is such a smart author, and because it is thought to be a young adult fiction novel people can find it boring, but it is much more than that, the way marianne and connor interact throught their class backgrounds, the family abuse and how it affects marianne's relationship, etc. if you look at it from a different light maybe you'll enjoy it more :) 🌷

There are these things called "book darts" that you can get a tin of off of Amazon for cheap and they are like little brass pointer bookmarks that are really thin that I love to use to mark favorite quotes when reading, and then I can go back and write them down in a journal after I'm done reading.

I actually cried during the movie Where Did You Go Bernadette. I will admit that it wasn't the best movie, but it was really emotional for me. (granted, this is a super emotional time in general) Maybe if you really loved the novel, though, you shouldn't ruin it with an iffy movie.

With Normal People I did get bogged down by all the dense paragraphs and descriptions of minutiae. There was this one scene where I think they were eating a dinner and so much language was spent on the movement of the guests and the sounds of the flatware I lost track of what the scene was suppose to be. So I'm excited for a visual adaptation because I think they can adapt those atmospheric scenes without muddying the narrative.

Yes! Exactly~ and to also see the people’s facial expressions reacting to one another would be very nice to bring more context in.
