Blanchett losing the Oscar for Tár was the biggest robbery of the 21st century. Campaigns sometimes win awards, sadly.
@GlubySnotGlubbiest4 ай бұрын
No, I don’t think it was the biggest robbery. You can support her performance without putting the other person down. A lot of people felt that Michelle Ye had a better performance, and that’s probably why she won. But you can appreciate both performances, as you should since they are both incredible phenomenal performances.
@ethanmyfaye73564 ай бұрын
@@GlubySnotGlubbiest I disagree. Blanchett’s performance was miles ahead & Yeoh’s was a career Oscar. Also Blanchett had been so supportive of Yeoh all Oscar season & Yeoh posted in the last week of voting on her Instagram page a Vogue article suggesting Blanchett already has 2 Oscars & doesn’t need more while it would make a world of difference for Yeoh if she had won, which she took down right away when it received criticisms. Tells u a lot about what kind of person Michelle Yeoh is !
@GlubySnotGlubbiest4 ай бұрын
@@ethanmyfaye7356 didn’t you respond the same exact thing to me on the other comment? I think I responded to you, but maybe my response didn’t post. I can completely disagree with you, I am disappointed that you can’t recognize how nuanced and complex Michelle Yeoh’s performance was…. Plus, I think you said it yourself, Cate Blanchett spent the entire season praising different aspects of Michelle and her performance. I don’t think she would’ve done that if Michelle Yeoh wasn’t a good person. So I would consider that when you talk talk about what kind of person Michelle is. It’s very disrespectful and rude of you. You should be ashamed to make such immature comments.
@ethanmyfaye73564 ай бұрын
@@GlubySnotGlubbiestbut Yeoh did post that distasteful article and quickly took it down towards the end of the campaign , did she not? I am just stating the facts and pointing out what a distasteful and hungry person she was trying to clinch the Oscar. That’s all
@captlanc4 ай бұрын
Yeoh's performance was a tour de force in her own right. I actually wanted her to win because her performance made EEAAO, an indie *comedy*, mind you, into an Oscar winning movie. That is nothing short of a miracle. I actually think Cate not getting that Oscar that year actually helped her career in the long run. If she had won it instead of Michelle, no doubt people would be lamenting for Yeoh much like people are lamenting for Cate now, except that Michelle was the underdog and her winning over Michelle might have gotten her a bit of ill will. Besides, Oscars isn't the only award that matters in the awards season. Cate got her BAFTA and Critics Choice the same year, and I think that balances it out a bit.

Thank You!!! In my opinion Blanchett is thee actress that critics and casting agents have no idea of the genius that resides within her. I rarely believe that an actor/actress IS the character that they are playing, and for me one of the most difficult for us to understand is the inner working that went on in side the minds and souls of medieval/Renaissance/Age of Enlightenment royalty and she encompassed Elizabeth I so whole completely that I believed she was Elizabeth Tudor...I had a difficult time watching the entirety of 'The Tudors' because I couldn't grasp believe any of the actors...they couldn't embody the nobility, no idea of the birth rights that existed and those people were and that goes for most of the cast of 'La Reine Margot' and any other period drama historical or not that has been produced by Hollywood.....

1:10:00 Sorry to Joel, but I like weird ice cream flavors . . .not floral or tea flavored (I'll agree on that), but any other weird flavor is good. Salt and Straw is good with unique flavors. Otherwise, I don't see the point of paying $5 for a cup of ice cream that I could buy anywhere else in a store for cheaper. I looked and they only have one lavender flavored ice cream😅. Everything else IS food flavored and looks delicious. Get over it. Just go to your local grocery store and buy a gallon of vanilla and let the rest of us enjoy our kinky ice cream flavors.

I’m Gen Z and we definitely were listening to Ke$ha when she first came out. Tik Tok and Blah Blah were BLASTING at every Bat and Bar Mitvah during that era. I think that genre of pop music is just a little outdated because it’s so earnestly flamboyant. I miss it, but this current era is definitely all about irreverent hyperpop and ironic popstars which Charli and Chappell both represent very well

Just came to say this! Ke$ha was in deeply embedded in our childhood. Remeember when she guest starred on Victorious and they were eating ice-cream to win a private concert from Ke$ha? We had her playing any chance we got, any pizza party, any school dance. One of my friends has a tattoo that says "The party don't start 'til I walk in" bc that line lives rent free in her head.
