Wow! The imagery in this video with the juxtaposition of open, natural spaces and industrial structures made me wistful for the way my hometown used to be, with vast swaths of trees and wooded areas that have subsequently been razed to make way for more retail shops, restaurants, and a road that I used to ride my bicycle on in the 1980s when that road was under construction (before automobiles were allowed on it). Beautiful vocals, too -- what a unique timbre in that voice.

@freddieayre-smith44125 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, she took that to it's limits with DRINKS. This is the waning pendulum.
@philmalley78885 жыл бұрын
I can only fully answer that after hearing the album and seeing Cate live in Cardiff this summer. I last saw Cate on her Crab day tour and it was a happening. Probably the best performance of film , live music and then after an outstanding encore of her hits that I've experienced. She really is one of Wales foremost musicians currently.
@rigatone5 жыл бұрын
It's 'different'. Just had a quick skim through on amazon; slower than the energy of Mug Museum, different from Crab Day. Some outstanding songs on it. I probably prefer the 2 that were released as singles the least (so this one and Home to You) but overall it needs a good few listens I suspect....
@philmalley78885 жыл бұрын
@@rigatone Thanks for that, I'm hoping she plays a mix of her works and not only the songs from Reward. The crab day gig was superb but she needn't do that format again.
@kevincorrington74985 жыл бұрын
My feeling is that she's going the same synth pop route that so many artists have been turning to lately, and it seems so flat and boring. What I love about most of her work prior to this album is that it was a great mix of all styles. This one is strictly adult contemporary pop that wouldn't sound out of place on top 40 radio.
