I purchased their tool and it worked great. Just as he indicated, it took 5 pumps at each position, 12, 3, 6, & 9. You could buy a competitor's tool that has 4 holes in their tools groove, but their's cost more. Why pay more? This one works just fine for less!!!!. So what, you rotate it, big deal. I'll put the extra cha ching in my pocket... thanks fellas..

Why doesn't the wheel bearing just come with enough grease in it in the first place? This video (how to) is about the 1100th I have seen on what to do to your $28,000.00 machine direct off the showroom floor, before you actually use it. Or at least in the first few months. Can Am should charge $1.29 more for the machine and have the wheel bearing packer do 5 more pumps before they install it. Not sure, from all the replacement, after market parts if we are suppose to use the machine or work on it the first 4 months we own it.

Wondering if the bearings in a 2019 Cam Am Spyder RT are designed in the same way to be able to grease them up or if they are completely sealed up and no way to grease them. One of the front bearings is making a whinny noise and I want to know if this tool in the proper size will work in that application. Thanks

Nice video and great explanations but can you explain the benefit of having more, or extra grease since the bearings are riding on the races . If you are claiming that manufacturers are not putting enough grease in there in the first place that is a whole different issue. How do you know if the grease is compatible with what is already in there?

(2) mmm.... this "new "out of the box" bearing wasn't grease enough from the factory" correct. (3) will this bearing overheat now that it has been excessively filled with grease??? good video. 100-100 ty in advance for response.

Does the increase in grease cause excess heat due to the ball bearings being packed in the grease?
@carlosruiz2194 Жыл бұрын
It should push out excess grease as the wheel rolls & heats up but as mentioned if enough isn't put in then the old, contaminated grease will not be removed.

not unless you believe there could be debris inside. If so, you can pump it a couple of additional times to try to force out the foreign object.

I didn't see grease come out ot the sealed tho
@CATechnologiesUSA2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may need to bleed your grease gun, you may not have applied any grease if there is an air bubble. I would check that out first. But if your grease gun does not release as much grease as others then you may need more than the recommended number of pumps.
@Coyote.five.02 жыл бұрын
@CA Technologies USA thanks for responding. I did bleed my gun it just a low volume pump , im going to have a look at my bearings again. thanks again

How often do you need to grease the bearings
@CATechnologiesUSA5 жыл бұрын
Chris, it really depends on your terrain and driving style. Some people do it every other oil change. But others will change it once every 500-1000 miles if miles comes before the oil change interval.

My grease gun always gets stuck on the can am Zerk fitting. It doesn’t do that with my utility or boat trailer. I also noticed 3 of my zerk fitting were super loose when I went to grease it the first time. Did you have any issues like that?
@CATechnologiesUSA3 жыл бұрын
The grease gun getting stuck to the fitting is not something that has been brought to our attetion before. And concerning the loose fitting, if they are loose just tighten them back up and they should be good to go! If they remain loose please reach out to us and let us know!

@@CATechnologiesUSA I tightened them up as I went. I did buy this amazing adapter for my grease gun. The LockNLube from Amazon. It makes it super simple putting it on the Zerk fitting and taking it off. It cut my lube time in half. Best 30 bucks I have spent in a long time.

This little tool can be a sxs owners best friend but in the wrong hands, it could destroy wheel bearings. You really need to spin the bearing while you're filling it. The new cutaway bearing you showed could have a little more grease but you can get too much. Once a bearing is slap full of grease, the balls will not roll . Instead they slide and will ruin to your bearings.

@CATechnologiesUSA5 жыл бұрын
The tool you see in the video is for a Can-Am X3 which is only able to have one O-Ring. All grease tools for the RZR will have two O-Rings. As for the appearance question, all grease tools have a raw machined finish as when they are taken off of our lathe they go straight into to bins to be shipped after cleaning. So the dull appearance you are seeing is attributed to two things likely one from a poor camera quality, and two being this is a tool we use in our own shop for service work, so there is no telling how many uses we have on it.
