Greetings from Ohio, USA .... I saw this same machine working several days ago .... One guy posted (a CAT rep I think), that they offer certain variant colors from time to time, upon request. I like blue, but prefer the standard CAT yellow. As for swinging in the direction of the cab, I've never thought of it as safe in any respect. One hydraulic fail could be catastrophic. However, in defense of the operator, he does stay tucked in as far as possible ... However, still not a good practice ... Not at all safe! Surprises me, as he seems to be have great operator skills. P.S. It was posted earlier that this machine is new ... And appears to be.

@@jimclarkintheshed All I can see is a bad camera angle that initially looked like he may have carried the bucket over the cab of the truck, but after watching a few more times, the operator scoops, raises, folds bucket in toward excavator as he swings toward dump bed. Looks like a pretty smooth, experienced operator, not the type to likely be so unprofessional and dangerous enough to carry a load over a cab, especially an occupied one.

I feel if he was sitting on top of the pile he’d have a much better time loading trucks out in a round-robin. Constantly pulling the material to him instead of pulling it down and supplying himself

Since the trucks aren't running on public roads, overloading just means they get the most dirt possible hauled per load.

That bucket never passed over the cab, empty or otherwise. Here in the US, that action would have a pretty negative result for you one way or the other. If you managed to not get your ass kicked for being a hothead reacting to something that didn't happen, you'd promptly be shown the gate and banned from the premises, which probably would have effects with your employer if applicable (truck co. or the pit itself).Come to think of it, that stuff would happen in addition to getting your ass kicked. Either way 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know the situation they are in but he should be sitting where the camera man is. Benching all that down so he’s sitting above the trucks. Should be digging into the dirt not pulling into himself. Fuller buckets and less cycle times.

They swing over the cab because they're pulling up the bench behind them. The machine is a used machine that belonged to another company that buys all their cat equipment painted blue. In Europe a lot of companies get their equipment painted the company colors as a marketing scheme. It's not like in the US where owners just want the cheapest machine and rarely even put the company name on the equipment.

Love the colour scheme.... Very smooth operator, it makes a change to see someone actually filling the bucket to capacity and, as far as going over the lorry cab if you look close he pulls the dipper right in but, I do agree with others it's not the best practice to go anywhere near the cab, a company that I worked for years ago would sack you on the spot for cab passes, I only ever saw it once , a new guy started and two weeks in he done a cab pass, unlucky for him cus the company site manager seen him do it, that was it he was gone never saw him again....Anyway nice video thanks for sharing....

@@neilfleck2330 Hi Neil, I agree with you but, they don't have far to go and they don't go on the public highway, they are just shifting muck from one part of the site to another, on some site's it can be quicker and more economical to use eight leggers than dump trucks, also the material they are shifting looks very soft and light and, that's why I guess they are using eight leggers, if it was heavy clay and rock they wouldn't fill them trucks so much... Anyway, Take care and stay safe, especially these days..

@@Rikvdham You never, EVER swing a loaded bucket over the cab of a truck--'NEVER. That excavator can easily dig and swing the OTHER direction just like he loaded the second truck. As for cleaning up the pit--Haven't you ever heard of a RTD? Faster and more efficirnt!
