Matt, you’re no hillbilly. My dad was from NE AR. He knew, and/or was related to real hillbillies. Time and time again, you’ve shown amazing skills and education. Hillbillies aren’t dumb, or stupid. But they can’t touch your abilities or your teeth! Loving the build and have watched each episode, even watching most of the adds. Thanks for the entertainment and the education. Love what you’re doing. God bless all your family, keep brushing them teeth.

Matt...I have watched your videos from Day 1 on your D4. I admire your tenacity in sticking with this project to its conclusion. I just watched the small clip ref. incorrect measurement of one of the hydraulic lines. Of greater interest to me is to see the end result of all your hard work. That D4 is one CHERRY ride, my friend, and you are to be congratulated for all your hard work. Seems a shame to even think of soiling it with "dirt work!" I would sit on it and drive around the neighborhood showing it off - everyone would be pea-green with envy!!! John

I am going to adopt your "problems for a future Matt" statement, a problem for future me! That will work so well I think and really confuse my wife! Also the antique tractor vs the antique store thought definitely was funny. cheers and keep up the untold amount of work you are putting in on this. the videos probably don't even cover 10% of the work you are doing, all the research and shopping for parts, dang.

Hey Matt. "Hillbilly" away. You've done a great job on this Cat. You've bothered to carefully do things right where it really matters. Your work with the torch is just fine. Less critical parts and you still did the best job possible. You've done what you can with the tools you have, even fabbed up a couple, to make the whole thing work. Well done. That Cat project is one you can be proud of. I have thoroughly enjoyed this project from the beginning. Cheers, eh, from a little bit farther up the coast.

As someone who runs a small dozer at least weekly, I have gotten such a kick watching you put this old iron back in running condition. You have done a fine job with nothing to feel bad about. I am a hillbilly from and in the hills of Tennessee and we would all be proud of the work you have done. One word of advice, build a top for the open space on the nose guard. If you don't that opening will attract everything that falls out of any tree you get near and dirt will find its way down in front of your radiator. Bad juju!

Very, very impressive job. I really wish my father were still alive to see your work. He had been a master mechanic for a number of large construction companies in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. He could have answered any question you had about the D4. He converted an orchard model D4 7U into a more conventional configuration and fabricated a hydraulic ripper for the back for use on our small ranch. I really do miss that machine and my Dad these days. Am looking forward to seeing your machine work.
