My first video with PNH and I must say that your helper is not!!! I laughed so often as Charlie showed up at the worst of times, but he does get his exercise.

You gotta do something with that engine and turn it into a series it’s to pristine to part out also seeing all the comments of people who worked on and built these engines is so cool and I feel lucky being alive in a time when people can still pass down their first hand knowledge of beautiful pieces of machinery like this
@smellycheese24666 сағат бұрын
Really out here saying how he doesn’t have time to drop it in a jeep, little does he know after this video that the people want to see that thing running in any vehicle now

Give it back to the UK. I'm American but I grew up with top gear and idk. If I were you I'd find the right person that it should belong with. Sure you could part it out but that's time on you. I'm just going to find the right person in the right country.

Back in the day, 1968 as a workshop asst in the Australian Army, we had a number of Austin Champs, my memory of them is having to find spares in the "boneyard" of old vehicles the army had in storage, as a reserve unit we didn't get good access to new Landrovers just the WW2 and Korean war leftovers.

It would be exciting to see this engine in a jeep. Especially the one it is made up for.

Iooks like the Austin champ. I recall around 1962 we had them in the army reserve in Australia. It was our centurion tank with the RR engine, a meteor mk I V if I recall correctly.

Make a one person rock crawler with it. With a wrap-around space frame. Keep it quiet, and stealthy. Just super efficient and tidy.

This went into the Champ jeep, the English version of the U.S. Jeep. I owned one in the 1980s. Built by Austin in the war years, it was so much better than the U.S. version but costs 10 times the amount and took 5 years extra to design and produce. The carb.is fitted already and the engine will run under water,with a snorkle fitted to the car. The front suspension cost more than the U.S. Jeep, so the U.S. Jeep was much more useful than the AUSTIN CHAMP. After driving both the Champ and the Jeep , the Jeep is light and easy to use and repair,The Champ was easy to drive but very heavy. And quite easy to repair. Great to watch, well done ,thanks ,and good luck. Eddy

a ww2 jeep has like 60 HP, this would be a GREAT engine for an early jeep build. its waterproof and smoother than any actual jeep engine, sure its heavy but the engine from a willys jeep is 470 pounds so this isnt that much heavier.

If not to sell to antic car enthusiasts it could serve well in a workshop applications as it so quiet it can run as compressor or generator motor etc

It would make a great little small equipment engine for like a maybe a small dozer or tractor forklift really anything . great video thanks

Honestly just thought about it, there was 100% some highly toxic and dangerous shit in this engine that was super effective in the past, and we learnt later why it was too good to be true.

There will be someone here in the UK who won’t flinch at the shipping cost to get their hands on this as it’s a rare thing. Don’t strip it for spares just for the money! This video alone has 2.3 million views which should have done its job in making you some cash. It would be doing the right thing making sure it goes to someone who can genuinely use this piece of history rather than just an opportunist. A great video and a beautiful sounding perfectly balanced engine.
@lpete276622 сағат бұрын
They never would have shipped that engine without spark plugs or something to seal up the cylinders . Someone was in there .
@PacificNorthwestHillbilly21 сағат бұрын
That's my bad, there were little brass plugs in the sparkplug holes, somehow I managed to edit out pulling them out

Hi mat , great videos as usual have you tried using a Ring spanner on the bolt and another spanner on the end of another spanner to loosen the bolts off i’m still going through the videos Mo when you rebuild excavator it’s gonna be amazing I reckon by the way, I use an impact wrench all the time on my car only because it’s Norton metres 1600 of torque I only do spanners if I have too
