When I worked with my dad we would sprar ether in the filter on ice cold Maryland winter mornings. I drove my Mack dm600. I miss building roads and hauling. I love this dozer. We had all Caterpillar and Mack.❤❤❤❤

From England great set of Grousers on the tracks and it has a tubed fuel tank for a CCU.

Rolling over to build oil pressure also helps build some heat in the cylinders before fuel is added.

My friends d8h(donkey/pony motor start) won't let him open the throttle up until it has oil pressure something to do with the governor design he tells me,thats a design I like about cats

The cap on the exhaust is a bit loose, needs tightening up as they can come off!

We had them in the mines and now pretty much worn out by the time we got done in the 80s I did use them in the Territory in the 80s that was pulling Scrubs the ones in the minds were replaced with tens and 11s which made the all nines look like cluckers

i bought this exact D9 - do you know what i can do for a side seat and seat replacement on this old beast? i like the take the kids on rides lol .

That’s awesome! I bet the kids love that. I’ve never seen one with a side seat. I’m sure you could do it with a tractor seat and a little fabrication

Did they weld up the blade tilt feature? why would they do that?

They did! Very good eyes. It was originally a push cat so it didn’t have the pluming for tilt. When they put the Semi u on it they had intentions on pluming it up but it need to get to work ASAP so it got weld up for now.

Operated both the 9G and H,also the 355a,from brand new in 1980,didn't like that though with the 4 speeds,pretty much a copy of the 9H otherwise.
