A part of the appeal of this specific episode, is the fact that it has been deleted from streaming platforms so many times since it's release. Everything about this episode (Season 2 Episode 10) is so wild, and rewatching it made me realize that I had forgotten most of what went down. This episode is underrated, and rarely discussed, so of course I had to bring it to you. Its eqaully as hard today as it was then, there are constant videos about weight popping up on little boy's and girl's phones. they compare what they eat to that, they also compare themselves to the size zero models. body image has always been hard even today. my heart aches for them to and all the people of today *Cutley gets eaten alive by middle aged ladys just because I made the point that its still as hard*

I feel like Nev especially dislikes people who use other people's photos because he's said on the show before that it can be a safety issue for the person whose photo is being used. They don't know someone thinks they're in a relationship with them so it could create a very unsafe situation if the person getting catfished was unhinged and saw them out or found things out about them... She definitely was using her photoshopped photos as a way to pretend to be her ideal image of herself, and it made her feel good to have a handsome fit guy saying shes beautiful. When she saw he was an overweight guy and THAT was who was attracted to her, it brought all of her insecurities about her weight to the forefront of her mind when looking at him. She hates looking at him because it reminds her of her own weight issue :(

I lost a dear friend to an Overdose in 2020 who had extreme self image issues. She once explained to me she used drugs the same way people would cut themselves; self punishment... but she told me people are less likely to call someone when there are needle marks, not slices. People say we lost her to drugs... I think we lost her to fat phobia :( Rip Ashley, it broke my heart to hear you're gone.

So, if she wasn’t so displeased with her own body image, then I would assume she genuinely wasn’t attracted to him. But the fact that she has been very transparent about not liking her own image, it’s obvious that she’s projecting and it has nothing to do with whether she is genuinely attracted to him or not. It’s sad that she thinks that dating someone who has a different body than hers will make her feel secure… bc that’s absolutely not how it works. She could be dating a GQ model and she would still have the same body image issues. I hope she’s grown since then and got some help.

I think when Nev says that photo shopping your pics vs stealing someone else’s is different he’s not meaning they both aren’t catfishing but rather stealing someone else’s pictures is worse because you are bringing another totally innocent person into the mix who could get wrongfully accused of catfishing, lying, etc? I do agree that they both catfished eachother, and that they were both equally dishonest to eachother. The only thing that I find slightly redeemable with what Ashley did is that she didnt take another random person's likeness and identity to catfish someone else. Stealing other people's photos is not only damaging to the person you are catfishing, but also the person you are pretending to look like. So that's the only way that what Mike did was "worse" than what Ashley did.

I can answer the question about his beef with cameras, at least for my experience. I’m big, and I look horrible on cameras. Like you know the whole “the camera adds 10 pounds”, yeahh it does. Like I LITERALLY don’t have a single selfie, group picture, hell even graduation picture from 6th grade up until 12th grade, and only recently post college graduation started feeling confident enough to take selfies. Not even post them, just take them. Like if you were going from pictures in my and my parents’ phone, I don’t exist in my teen years 😂
