With a larger sinker I'm sure I could get 100 yards I just use a 2 ounce for all of em so they stay within the football field area for measurement. Thank you for giving your feedback on them.

Over 100? With just a 2 1/2 sinker? That may change once you have a rig on it like the santee cooper or fish finder/ carolina rig style with a big bluegill or piece of cut bait. All that stuff causes alot of reduction in the aerodynamics. The combo that I have can go over 100 yds with minimal effort, 20lb. line and a 2 oz. sinker but when I put a santee rig with a large bluegill on it, it struggles to get 70 with the added resistance but it gets where I need it to regardless. Good luck and tight lines
@lyricmerck900811 ай бұрын
@georgewoolinghamii488 Yeah, I took it out to the lake with a leader and 7-inch bluegill and only got 65 or so.

I just need to know how to cast it without getting the "Over run" issue on the line. I've only used the cheap reels from walmart so this is a new issue for me

You just rest your thumb barely on your spool as it's flying through the air, and as soon as it hits the water, you stop the spool with your thumb.

Does having the sinker dangling alot. from the rod tip improve your castle distance. I've been having my rig almost to the tip when I cast

@@JeffB1961 that link is correct for a rod and reel combo it is $128. The reel is $69 buy itself. That chaos xs 50 is hard to beat allot of performance for the price.

I was a spinning reel guy for prolly 25 years said I'd never own a bait caster. A buddy of mine convinced me to try one of his Abu Garcia rockets for a week after that I couldn't go back to spinning reels. I can cast so much farther and have way more control over fish with the casters. Try a friend's for a week or so you may be surprised

Why don't you paint a sinker a color you can see in the air easier.
@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri73093 жыл бұрын
Two ounce is pretty small after about 50 yards it's hard to see a small item like that even if it was painted. But I like the idea thanks for watching polar bear

If you set your magnetic brake properly, you won't back lash twice in a row on KZbin.😮
@needler2672 жыл бұрын
A better example would be casting into water, not a empty football field. Hence there is no need to cast 90 yards. unless it's completely open you wouldn't be able to control it anyway. That's why you couldn't find a local fishing place to test and used a empty field which makes little sense. Show me where you fish that you need to cast that distance.
@georgewoolinghamii48811 ай бұрын
Yeah and casting with just a sinker and no rigging with bait makes a BIG difference in the aerodynamics. A big old piece of cut bait or live bluegill with a santee rig or similar, decreases the distance and aerodynamics substantially. I've also found times where these claimed casting distances without actual measurement are usually subject to extreme exaggeration. I've been with guys on the river who have these $300 combos and they'll cast and say "LOOK THAT THING WENT AT LEAST 100 YDS" and not even go half way across the river that's 160 yds from bank to bank wide. Alot of those claimed 100 yd. casts are lucky to be 70 or 80. Some guys crack me up but it's all fun and good I guess. I just watch, laugh and dgaf.

That’s a $50 reel and you can tell it when you cast it…it’s almost a copy of my 23 year old black pro rocket that you can’t hear the line coming off the spool. All these Chinese junk reels whine and just sound cheap. They basically paid a Chinese company to put their label on it…for the money..the bass pro reel is still a great buy and it lasts

Well I am just a little taken back by your video. You had the reel apart and stated that the blue grease might effect the casting distance. Well it did, why did you not clean the reel and oil it while you dad it apart? As far as the backlash you failed to adjust the reel braking capability. Your video was not helpfull and was very misleading. Respectfully submitted Don B
@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri73092 жыл бұрын
If you clean the grease and add oil instead then that's not reviewing a factory sent stock reel. I had no back lash I had over run because when you cast a 2 ounce sinker sometimes you cannot see it in the air and in turn you can not see it about to hit the ground so therefore I didn't stop the spool until after the sinker had landed so the spool over ran. A birds nest where the breaks are not adjusted correctly happens during mid flight. They are two completely different things.
