It’s August 2022 and it amazes me how much more advanced you’re fishing techniques are now versus just a year ago. Compared to today seeing that tiny bait and manually dropping a anchor is kinda weird to me 😆 always looking forward to every video!

Is there any benefit in the through float bobber compared to the ones that use a line slide and clip on like the MRC floats? Or is it just preference? Great video Dave.

Love the video's catfish Dave. I really don't fish with live shad but do you always hook the gill behind the dorsal? I found i do better with it through the lips making sure it's not through the brain. The only reason is because fish usually strike head first,so I get better hook-up ratio. The only drawback I found is they cast off easier and don't last as long. Thanks bud

I make my floats out of 6" foam balls through which I run a coffee straw. I heat up a piece of coat hanger to make the hole through which the coffee straw goes. The straw is anchored on each end with hot glue. These work great and are very weight and amazingly bouyant.

Once my cousin caught a flathead while we were fishing for bluegill. That flathead was as mean as a striped snake and just plain ornery. The hook was a very small bluegill hook so there was no way it was going hold that flathead even if it could hook it. That doggone fish just decided it wasn't going to let go of that bluegill until my cousin pulled it onto the bank (I think she had 4lb line) and it promptly spit that bluegill out. It was both my cousin's first flathead and her first catfish. It weighed right at 15 pounds. I swear it's true. lol

? Dave if i am fishing in 30ft of water with a float how deep should my bait be?
@catfishdave81923 жыл бұрын
In most cases the bait is suspended just a couple feet off bottom but there are occasional instances where big cats may come up from the bottom and hit a surface bait. My first choice would be a couple feet off bottom
