Are you in Oklahoma? If so, what area. I'm down south in Wynnewoid. Nice spot and great video. Thanks.

Are you on the south side of Arkansas river? It looks like it to me, I haven't fished that side down past bridge yet. I wasn't sure if 4wd was needed to get down there. I was always told a fish with a hook left in it that the hook would rust away in not much time.
@JSOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, I’m on the southside and unless it’s really wet I haven’t needed my four-wheel-drive

Been trying to find decent places to catfish for a while. Tulsa hasn’t been the best area for me im curious to ask what places you’d recommend?
@JSOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Well, I live about an hour and a half south of Tulsa. I fish, Robert S Kerr reservoir most of the time but this time of year I would recommend near dams because the fish are moving up river to spawn also creeks, especially after a rain and you have some current flow, but fish are about to start going into holes to have their eggs, so June is usually pretty slow

Been catching blues from 5lb-25lb pretty regular on cut bluegill & green sunfish in the mornings north of Tulsa on the Arkansas in the shallows last couple weekends. It's been fast action until about 11 then it just shuts off completely. I'm guessing the fish are moving out after the water heats up ? Funny thing is the place is just loaded up with shad everywhere but they're hitting the bluegill and green sunfish 10 to 1 over the shad there🤷🏻♂️
@JSOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, seems like when I get into them in shallow water they seem to shut off about 11 o’clock, but I figure you’re right the sun comes up and then warms up and they head for deep water I figure

So it’s my understanding that any fish is legal bait in Oklahoma as long as it’s caught on rod and reel?
@JSOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, and within the legal size limit

Why don't you setup near the shore?
@JSOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Lol well, at the time it seemed easier to set up on that little flat area there I had found, but that don’t mean it was the right decision

@JSOutdoors6 ай бұрын
Yes, just about everywhere. I fish I can drive right to it and it’s all public access and yes, those roads to get you below the damn and also check out around the Applegate Cove area. There’s a park camp area. It’s easy access.

Why are you so far off the bank?
@JSOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Well, it was a little easier for me to set things up on that flat area then try to do it down there on all those rocks. Not sure it was the best decision lol but it worked out OK thank you for watching.
