Catfishing With Shrimp! (Bank Fishing)

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Havent seen tv shrimp in years. Everyone in my area stopped selling it over a decade ago. I always found it funny how the box says good eating too. Then you'd open the box and the shrimp looked like it had been sitting in the sun for a week.

I have dealt with a lot of snakes (while fishing), but never had or ever even heard of a snake trying to run off with a bait knife. Stupid crazy. I wouldn’t have believed it if it wasn’t record. Hey, I've been using circle hooks for a couple years now and have figured something out. if I reel down on the fish too soon and too quickly i can pull it out of their mouth without hooking them. i started letting them take longer and even giving them slack until they start to move away, then reel down easy and almost always hook them well enough to land them. Had the same problems you are having in this video, when i first started using circle hooks. Also, lost a few by "setting" the hook too hard. if you haven't already tried those things, give it a go! When my dad and i were cat fishing back in the early 1990’s thats all we used was T.V. Bait shrimp. They loved it in Oklahoma, channels and blues. That stuff does get stinky, smells just like the woman’s restroom 😂🤣

I used to bank fish for river cats. Always used frozen tiger shrimp. I would get the 30-40 count frozen shrimp from the grocery store and the channels and flatheads loved them. Back then the shrimp only cost around $4 for a small tub, but there was a lot of fishing in that tub of shrimp. Worked like a charm here in eastern central Ohio.

This man displays traits of a master fisherman!! Fishing like Hunting is a Meditation of Patience for the time where nothing happens!! It is also a challenge of Frustration. with what gets away!! Masters have infinite patience and can handle the frustration. This man has it in spades and he will get the fish. Those small/young channel cats would be what I would be after. They would be excellent eating!! Caught a small channel cat in a spring fed creek back in the early 70s!! Best eating ever!!

I miss so many fish with them mustad circle hooks I had to switch over the the eagle claw circle hooks and use size 3-4 for lake catfishing. I upsize to 6-8 when I hit the rivers and spillways

We used the cooked shrimp with green dot Potski salmon egg for kokanee in Northwest Washington. Pink salmon or Humpies like sand shrimp. And sturgeon like sand shrimp as well.Drifted down stream bouncing off the bottom. Lot's of fish love shrimp.

When you catch a catfish, and you're going to keep it, before you skin it cut the belly out of the catfish, Flathead you keep the belly because the belly's edible. But if you put a catfish belly skin down on a hook which is going to give you a problem you'll find out that all kinds of fish love catfish belly

Set your hook big dawg!!! You got em on the line. when the pole start bending, reel in real slow to tighten your line and when you feel him tug the line set the hell out the hook💪🏾🎣

Everything you said was right Cameron Manley. But I believe he said he was using circle hooks. So the best thing to do is let them take it for a few seconds then reel as fast as you can.

Good stuff but ya need to loosen that drag and let 'em run a little then just tighten up the drag and the hook will set or use bait clicker/ bait feeder reels to have the 2 different drag settings. That's why the santee cooper rig is so good with the sliding sinker to allow them to run the bait with little to no resistance. Good stuff though. It's February 27, 2022 and I'm goin' out for the first time this year next saturday. I got everything cleaned, greased, oiled, fresh spools, lots of leaders made and takin' the shrimp as well. Anxious as heck!👍👍

The only thing with shrimp the loose a lot of smell quickly.ps get you a can of sardines smash them up too a puree let your shrimp marinade in the puree in a zip lock bag for awhile .the you will see the differences

Especially now in the fall you should be able to leave with a whole stringer full and occasionally you'll mess around and get a 10lb. But for sure you'll get those eaters, you can hear the grease popping as you bring them in 🤣

In Eastern Colorado we used T.V. brand bait shrimp with a night crawler on top, sometimes we'd inject the shrimp with anise oil worked Everytime then Kansas stole our lake ( Bonny resivor) and were SOL for a fishing hole.:(
