Great review and comparison Jayden :) 15:57 - the permanent Cathay logo is likely due to Cathay putting in some investment into the lounge alongside Plaza Premium (in return for preferential access for their passengers) - BA have done this with Plaza or Aspire in a few lounges (from memory Belfast, Newcastle, maybe Toronto?)

Great comparison video, Jayden! Loved seeing the Jewel again. Your dad and I must have been in Singapore around the same time. I also was there when MBS was being built. I was really surprised to hear that SQ’s lounge in their hub doesn’t have a toilet. That is terrible. Also, I was surprised about such a limited drink service. Looked like CX had slightly better service, but I think I’d favor the better legroom on SQ. It looked really tight on CX. Nice to see your dad in the video!

Another great vlog JW! There were definitely ups and downs with both SG and CX. The meal served on CX looked impressive given the flight time, actually looks more than you receive on QF 1ong haul! The screen size on CX also looked large for economy! BTW, my husband now watches your channel, and he's not an aviation tragic like me🤣 Well done and keep up the great work!!

Amazing comparison Jayden! I prefer the SQ seat due to the more legroom and I feel like it has more space also due to the brighter colours and deep recline. However, service wise both are great and would choose either depending on the price. It is a shame Qantas are not installing inflight entertainment on their first a321’s, that would have been great!

In my opinion, I'd like to choose SQ, as the flight time between Singapore and Penang is only around 1 hour, if they serve a full hot meal, it will be too rush to finish it. Also SQ gets the free WiFi for Kris flyer, which is free of charge for all ppl, that means I can just simply connect to the wifi then enjoy what I wish to watch in whatever KZbin, Disney+, Netflix etc... (Btw just flow SQ on the same route in August, my experience was quite good👍🏻)

I think its cuz it was a rolling take off hence they didnt go full throttle. U can hear that at the start the engines spool but they dont increase in pitch even on quiet planes the change in pitch is noticeable however quiet. U can also see that cuz when the plane starts accelerating it seemed rather slow. They do this wen their weight is low and they have a long runway this helps save on fuel

Last month, my tourist stop at ‘Waterfall’ entrance and Jewel Changi ✅ Finally got to eat Shake Shake at Jewel 😂😂 Flew SQ B737-800 KUL-SIN, no personal TV screen. Just 2 cups of water and nap only. So long haven’t flown CX… Anyway a great trip report 👍🏻

Interesting comparison Jayden. Personally i would choose the Airbus product as the MAX is such an outdated design... although its cabin feels more homely. As an excited teenager i flew the 737 in 1968 with LH ZRH-FRA. At that the 737 was considered a revolution in short-haul jet flying !

8:15, Love the sound of the Leap 1 engine start up on the Max 8. It's similar sounding to Airbus A321neo and Airbus A320neo, wow. Didi...personally I prefer SQ legroom and free WiFi...although I agree they use to have hot meals even on a short one hour flight to Penang. Yes I miss SQ in flight magazines and menus...but I also like the silver ware CX for even short haul flights whereas SQ only provides silver ware on flights four hours and above with exception of HKG flights! On the issue of toilets it's back design and what's worse... if there's a turbulence with so many folks using the toilets at the back with meal carts etc ...and yes I love the view of Changi from the air...❤

Given the minimal service on SQ, seems like a better deal to fly AirAsia or Jetstar Asia for the same route? Lot cheaper at least. Given such a short flight, you won't have time to adequately enjoy the IFE anyway, so its hard to justify paying extra for SQ.

That's a question asked here in Europe as all national airlines have cut back on catering. In the future I believe other Asian carriers will follow SQ and reduce onboard catering.

29:00, Cathay because it has the best in flight entertainment TV in Asia, better or more than Singapore and Turkish, it's a winner, even though Cathay is a 4 star airline, the in flight entertainment TV is big and extensive, they have USBC port, which is good, they have seat feature to put the phone if your watching something and a cup holder, which is good and full meal on a short and medium haul flight on a narrow and widebody jet.

@@JaydenWong The seat might be better padded than the common slim line Recaro seats but this is of little comfort. The seats themselves may be excellent on their own but the pitch is so tight, they may actually have more comfort by reducing the padding. CX may be sensitive to padding because of the fiasco with their poorly padded economy sliding seats from over a decade ago but now they have a well-padded seat of no comfort due to the ridiculous pitch. I will avoid flying CX 321s because they are simply uncomfortable in economy.

they send their pilots to Adelaide for training, so I think they love Adelaide and trust the pilot school very much haha. The pilot shortage is stopping them from operating to/from Adelaide. They’ll prioritise routes that can’t be served with codeshare arrangements first. They can put people on Qantas to Adelaide

Hello 🙋‍♂️ Jayden I want to share my flight ✈️ with Singapore 🇸🇬 airlines with you so in march a couple of months ago this year which is 2024 I flew business 🧑‍💼 class with my dad 🧓 to go back to Malaysia 🇲🇾 with a stop 🛑 at Singapore 🇸🇬 changi so my grandad 👴 and grandma 👵 and aunty and my mum 🧑 took me to the airport and I was crying 😢 because I did not want to leave the uk 🇬🇧 and move to Malaysia 🇲🇾 and my mum was going to stay in uk 🇬🇧 for one 1️⃣ more week then join us and I went into the lounge with dad 🧑 and ate pancakes 🥞 with maple 🍁 syrup and toast 🍷 with butter 🧈 and jam then went to the gate the flight ✈️ was delayed for a couple of minutes then we took off and the service was fantastic the lady asked me would you like 👍 champagne 🍾 and dad 🧑 laughed 😂 and on the plane ✈️ had hainanese chicken 🐔 rice 🍚 I do not know what dad 🧓 had and I burst 💥 into tears 😭 on the flight because I miss London and I got two 2️⃣ desserts 🍨 🧁 and I spoke to the cabin crew 👩‍✈️ and one of them are from Malaysia 🇲🇾 and then I slept 🛌 and I enjoyed the flight ✈️ then landed 🛬 then got off the plane ✈️ and went to the lounge for five hours then went on the next flight ✈️ and arived in Malaysia 🇲🇾 then left the plane ✈️ and taxi 🚖 took us home 🏠 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ and good 😊 greatings to you ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
