Thanks Luke for this video - really enjoyed it . I appreciate your honesty and unfiltered reviews. I was lucky enough way back in 2017 to visit The Pier, and loved the whole lounge and onboard CX experience ! We had fantastic customer service both on the ground, and in the air. Staff were amazing.

Some people think CX is very bland, but I get that they're consistent. They've somehow styled their branding into something which can last. CX is very much woven into my family's history together with TG and SQ. I have lots of great memories flying on their Tristars when they were still 3 green stripes. They were great then, and I think they're still great today. With regards to the FAs with different accents... CX used to advertise the fact that their crew had been recruited from 10 Asian countries. These days, their ads are a lot less elaborate but I'm sure this is still the case today. Although the majority of the countries these days seem to be from Philippines, Japan and Korea.

@@ryansofly It’s great having such a diverse crew… similar to Emirates when we boarded the captain was from Scotland. FA’s were from all over.

Great video, Luke! I really miss the lounges at HKG. They are so good. I’ve always loved CX’s business product. Nice seats and great service. Being up front was especially nice given the extra time you had to spend onboard due to the storms. Sorry your meal was a bit of a letdown. I definitely can see how relying on special meals can leave you feeling left out. Hope you enjoyed Singapore!

@@mba0005 Hey Michael! Yeah it’s been a while since I was in HKG, the lounges are great there. Very keen to check out the first Pier lounge on my next trip. I appreciate your perspective on the meals. It does suck a bit mate.. but understandably, they can’t focus on these area a whole lot when it’s only a small percentage of us that require them. Either way I’m lucky to still have them… I am keen to fly SYD - LAX to see if predominantly western customer base will open up the meal options slightly.. especially since Coeliacs is generally a western genetic condition. I love Cathay but their special meals really do need improvements 🤣 it's always capsicum and eggplants with rice or pasta for vegan meals

@@JaydenWong Yep 😆.. I will say though.. from that recent trip, out of JAL, CI AND CX… Cathay’s meal on this flight was the better of the lot… pretty much sums up the others 🙃

Hey Luke how are you mate?Cathay A359.Decent airline and great plane.I have already flown on A350s of Singapore and Qatar but in economy.Lovely planes.I really enjoyed the rides and I really liked the onboard cameras.About Cathay I had a one and only experience back at the 90s from Zurich to Hong Kong on an A340.Only good impressions with them.See you on the next,cheers from Greece

Hey Yannis! I am great, the weather is heating up here and its a clear sunny day in Adelaide. I have also flown SQ A350.. I think its probably my favourite aircraft alongside the A380. It was great watching the nose gear on takeoff and landing. wow the a340! I am keen to fly on one, however they are very limited these days... probably Lufthansa is the main one I could still fly on. What’s wrong with 15A? Oh great I’ve selected 15A from Hong Kong to the U.K. in December and I feel like changing it to the small cabin instead but my friend wants to go stay in seat 16A?
