I really like that this gives you a reason to actually go for the Bastion. I usually find that, unless they start losing stuff, you're pretty heavily incentivized to avoid confederating the Bastion factions as Miao. I hope the SFO team considers buffing the Kugan mobs that spawn, they really struggle to keep up in the midgame

When do they not get their shit pushed in!? By the time I kill off the descenter lords and MAYBE snikch they'll be losing first or second bastion settlement. I'm usually forced to confederate them quite early.

It's crazy to me that a literal triple A game studio, getting paid to put out content, is constantly out done by groups of modders, doing it part time, out of passion. CA really is doing the least and charging for the most.

Building a massive base. Keep it functionally and develop it step by step is way more work as put small parts and change them.

I had a an idea in the previous video here's another one. On a different subject from the last. I don't think the monogod factions, Should be sacking cities. Instead of sacking, they should be corrupting cities. Basically when you corrupt a city, you do the damage of sacking. but you gain your special resource,(in larger amounts) & increase your corruption in that City by 50%. If the defending faction has a Lord, hero, army, or already has an anti-corruption building. The city will remain. if none of those things are present. after 2 turns, the city will descend into ruins. the corruption would then be 90%. You also gain your special resource in smaller amounts,(per-turn) from cities or ruins. depending on there level of your corruption. let's say 50% or higher.This also goes for cities you abandon or raze. (They are the ruinous Powers after all.) This would go for all the monogod factions.

The bonuses seem like a bit timid imo but I understand that with all the power creep SoC bring to the table the SFO Team were reluctant to put bigger numbers...In overall it looks really good

Cathay, specially early on, bases it's armies in heavy defensive infantry to hold the line and ranged to deal damage. Dark elves are ideal against this playstyle. Specially Fellheart, as he is Corsair focused. Corsairs in SFO are armour piercing instead of anti infantry. Dark shards are ap too. His units are fast, deal lots of damage to your units and just blaze through you without much hussle. That's probably why you're having such a bad time against him.

One thing I greatly dislike about how CA does DLCs is, in order to convince you to buy the DLCs, they make the DLC lords super strong. And then they decide to later rebalance them.

I do think each Cathayan lord should have their own gimmick, seems obvious when you look at them, Miao Ying is all about the bastion and it's gimmicks, Zhao Ming is all about caravans and maybe a gimmick related with warpstone. These mechanics already exist in the base game, but they are not fleshed out at all by CA, which is a damn waste, the dragon siblings are literally reskins of each other. At least the DLC dragon has it's own gimmicks, it's the bare minimum, similar to that lame Empire character in Lustria that I already forgot his name... empire by the way, should be the same thing, each character have their own gimmick, Bretonnia also... these human faction are very lackluster, that's why I don't like them very much, I do think Kislev is neat just because of it's presentation and aesthetics, because on everything else, it makes no difference if you play a different lord
