Pity that Henry never loved her, she was an iconic woman who brought to the then primitive French court the best the Italian Renaissance had to offer: perfumes, ice cream, the fork, high heels (she was short) and helped to create the side saddle, as after a fall she couldn't ride astride anymore. She also sponsored the arts. Ballet was created under her auspices. She and Elizabeth I of England were the most powerful women of the 16th century.
