I just came across a news channel interviewing couples who lost their homes. It was absolutely heartbreaking. It looked like a war zone, it went on for miles. One thing of note, they were in rented accommodation through insurance. But the issue is many do not take pets. Tou would think, given their unique position, rental properties would show some compassion. This city is going to take decades to rebuild, homes, businesses, schools, infrastructure, and hospitals. This is a decimated, and I suspect thousands will never return. When there is nowhere to have a job!

Dear Lady C. I was so disappointed that the wives of our former President and Vice President were so discourteous to not only the President Elect But to the late President Carter and his family. We attend funerals to respect the deceased and their family. No title that these two ladies apparently taught them protocols in government. I thought it was distasteful to not attend the funeral of a prior president of your own party that lived to 100 years old. He worked for civil rights, women, children, and dignity for all ppl to have a home through Habitat For Humanity he helped to found or founded. She should have gone to honor him regardless of the person sitting beside her. Petty. My father had a 'could be dangerous job'. And my mother went on a business trip with him. Before she left, she said if we die for any reason on this trip, do not cry in front of the cameras. Don't show a hint of emotion. I was in my first year of college. Now, they lived but I did receive a threatening phone call the first night. She should have gone to honor his service to his country and mankind, and 100 years!!! Not everyone liked her husband. Carter never harmed her, so... that's it.

Yes, many insurance companies non-renewed policies (giving a years' notice) because the CA government refused for years and years to allow the insurance premiums to be increased to what was needed. Every year the insurance companies paid out way more than what they collected. They finally had enough and said we are not writing any new homes and years later started to non-renew current policies. Homeowners were given a years notice to find other insurance.
