I first visited the US as a foreign student in the early 80's. A highlight of that trip was hitching a ride over independence pass with a genuine mountain man in greasy coveralls, multiple layers of frayed plaid and a worn out feed supply cap. His 1940's Willys Jeep, complete with home made plywood hard top, got slower and slower as the grade increased, the line of cars and RVs behind us getting longer and longer. Eventually the old timer had me stop traffic whilst he swung the Jeep around and we slowly ground our way to the summit in the lowest available gear, reverse. Best day ever. A picture of that guy and "the old goat" that was his Jeep continue to take pride of place on my home office wall.

Being a Wyoming native, I am in love with the type of hiking we have in the Wind River Mountains. I spent 5 years ski bumming in Colorado back in the 80s. I found that there are still amazing places in Colorado to get away from the crowds and see some of the most beautiful mountains anywhere. Thank you again Cathy. Love your videos.

Some places are just more beautiful than others in their own way (Maroon Bells). There are so many special places that when someone asks what's your favorite you get brain lock and the only answer is yes. I went through independence pass for the first time in decades last summer. It was a lot like I remembered, but Aspen had grown all the way out to it. I loved this video. I want to say you have no idea how nice it is to see these each week from your home office in the city, but you know exactly how nice that is. So you know how much you are appreciated by kindred spirits.

While I have no plans of going full time with my camping, I am extremely happy you are!!! I enjoy "taking these trips" with you!! Your videos are always so beautiful....even when you suffer the "bumps and bruises" of life.....which I am so happy that segment is behind you!! I share your videos because you and they are so beautiful. Your music is always perfect for the scenes. And the information you provide for each adventure is without a doubt very helpful. I'm living vicariously through you and I want to thank you for taking this old widowed man along with you! My late wife would have enjoyed your channel too! She grew up in a camping family and introduced me to the marvels of camping. We enjoyed camping throughout our nearly 40 years of marriage. I bought a smaller unit after her passing and I now camp mostly where we have gone before so I can remember and retrace all the fun times we had together. Safe travels Catherine!!! ❤

Sunday cappuccino with Catherine. A habit I started a few weeks ago on a chilly Nevada morning,, holding onto a small screen in a hotel room. Now back in VA and watching in 4K on the big screen. With cappuccino in-hand! Big difference is that while I'm again inspired to add to the dust on my 4Runner, the trails are too far away for an afternoon outing. Catherine, this is yet another masterwork. I especially liked the wildlife contrast , going from hummingbirds to fish. Each in their natural element. Very well done! Like so much of the world, Maroon Bells is best enjoyed "out-of-season" when the crowds are diminished. With over the top videos like this, you must've had fun looking down at Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos. I hope you are suitably preparing for autumn! May Almighty God continue top Bless, Guard, Protect, and Guide you, but further inspire your creativity!

Cat, I lived in Aspen during the winter of 1977 and 1978 and skied 30 miles everyday mostly on Aspen Highlands Mountain. Back then the highest lift ended at the beginning of the Run called Steeplechase. From there I could see the Maroon Bells, but could not get there from the resort. Thank you for making it possible for me to finally see them up close and personal from your video!

I first hiked that area in the mid-70s. I drove out from Alabama with two friends. We hiked over Buckskin Pass to Snowmass Lake. The next morning we woke up at Snowmass Lake to about six inches of snow. Hiked down Snowmass Creek to come out. A few years a later, my brother and I started the same way, but from Snowmass Lake we went across Trailrider Pass to Marble. Terrific scenery either way.
