I just turned 74 and i stated camping just 4 years ago. I travel 6-8 months of the year now. I have stayed at RV parks mostly but you have inspire me to expand my travel options. This coming week my 22' camper will be upgraded with a 250AH battery, 2200W inverter, battery monitor and solar so I can visit those beautiful places as you do. I depart June 25 for a 3 month excursion to Arizona, Utah, Colorado and South Dakota. 90% will be boondocking. Thank you for your inspiration and God bless you.

Very good advice, Cat! I would venture to say that fear is the number one reason people stay locked into their humdrum lives. It is a big hurdle to overcome for a lot of people. I wanted to share with you my story of buying my truck. I went to the dealership and met a real nice young salesman who proceeded to show me this wonderful 4 x 4 truck. We got to talking about towing and camping. It came up in the conversation that I watched a KZbin channel about a young woman who started a nomadic life living in her truck camper. I mentioned your name Catherine and he said “I watch that channel too!” Can you believe that the salesman selling me a truck also watched you? You are well known Catherine! We had a lot to talk about that salesman and I! A lot of the conversation centered around your wonderful videos and all of the incredible information you’ve shared and how you have inspired so many people to try this wonderful lifestyle. I did purchase the truck and it’s sitting out in my driveway right now waiting to be loaded up and hitched to my tiny trailer. We hope to take off next week. Thank you for all you do! 4 years ! I really appreciated this honest talk. I just started my maiden journey and wondered what I’m doing right and wrong. I’m spending so much money and you pointed out exactly how you did it too. I’m just on a journey. Destination unknown. But as I drive, it becomes me & my SUVtogether pulling my small travel trailer. Learning about them on the road, over the mountains & thru the woods. It’s been a wet few months , as winter turns to “Spring” it’s still raining & snowing where I’ve gone ! So many State Parks aren’t open yet , dirt is mud yep! and boy am I “getting my feet wet “! The battery gets drained running the furnace. Or the 12v fan ( for cooking). Keeping an eye on management and maintenance. But I’m learning! The solar panels would not have helped me in this rainy weather . But if they’re working - gotta love the silence. 💕 ! Using and staying on BLM land has me wondering how you manage your water - one tank will not last 14 days. Can you talk on that ?

I think what is so great is how you represent a portion of the overall RV/Camping community and lifestyle! You present how to go solo into the vast wilderness and spaces, and experience such in the manner that works best for your needs; (contentment, peace of mind, serenity, and such!). Then, you capture them in your footage to play back for those of us to view; for some to enjoy through your channel, but also to help guide and promote to others of where to go for themselves. Admittedly, I like being in group aspects in the Wild; (I guess its the safety in numbers thing for me), but I truly appreciate your sense of solo adventure that you find so rewarding! The main thing is that no one's style is wrong or right; it is just how they feel they receive the greatest benefit from the experience! Or be retired from a government job and get a monthly pension. That works for my wife and I and we have been roaming in a van for two years. We enjoy exploring Mexico in winter but those videos get far fewer views I think so don’t bother. Stick with lovely photography and being yourself, fully clothed and thoughtful. You’ll get to the 100,000 without gimmicks.

My family has always held me back becuase my mother chooses fear- I am a flight attendant and feel like I haven't travelled the USA like you have. Hi Catherine I just subscribed to your Channel, and have enjoyed the few videos I have watched. I'm not a full-time rver but I have been investigating it you might say for the last couple of years on KZbin and I'm really interested in the boondocking aspect of camping, I've learned a lot about solar, lithium, inverters, generators Etc., now I'm trying to figure out what RV would be best a travel trailer or Class C but I am leaning more towards travel trailer anyway the one thing that I'm concerned about when it comes to boondocking especially in the Pacific Northwest or Southwest or just west in general have you ever encountered any bears, mountain lions or poisonous snakes and Are there specific things you can do to avoid them as much as possible cuz I would be out there alone and I would think it might be wise to have some bear spray and a firearm, I'm just curious about what your thoughts are. Thank you for the things that you share on your Channel it gives me more confidence to take that step out into the wild.

Great story Catherine but I did have to laugh at one thing you said. That was how you worked your whole life for the man. As young as you are that life must be about half as long as mine, LOL I'm just 3 months from an old man retirement though so I'll be there soon. There is always the potential for trouble and situational awareness is your best defense. One thing I learned over the years being in construction is that bad guys live in the city mostly. In the west anyway. I worked on a job with some serious gang boys up in the mountains once. First time a bear came around they were standing on roofs and running away, not returning the next day.. That was in Arrowhead and a long time ago but a funny story that adds a point... I think most fear comes from the unknown...

I can’t believe you don’t go get a little dog out of the shelter. You would make a great dog mom have a little hiking buddy and at night the will definitely let you know if someone is lurking outside. Little dog and a big side arm perfectly fits you.

Four years, really? My how time flies! I have enjoyed time in my RV, just had too many other commitments for more than month on the road.
