I've spent most of my adult life playing in the area. I've lived and worked in BIshop, Flown my hang glider HIGH over Mt Whitney and fished every creek, stream and lake. I've floated and fished the Owens River and used to own 3 silver claims just north of Lone Pine. I even had a cabin on the claims. Now I live in Northern Nevada because I just could not handle the politics in CA any longer. But I still go back to play every year.

Oh how fun Catherine! You're so good about cooking for yourself, but every once in a while we need to treat ourselves. I love the history of the places you go. Thank you for taking us to the Alabama Hills and Sierra's again. I never tire of them. Also, thank you for sharing the resources and education tools you're connected to. I love that your channel is family friendly. I always know that I won't be surprised with anything vulgar and insulting...very rare these days, especially on KZbin. Oh man that sandwich looked good. I think I'll go make one and sit outside in my backyard here in Phoenix, AZ. Thank you for your beautiful content Catherine.

Hi Catherin, If you're experiencing head aches at high elevations don't exert yourself too much. If your have breathing problems don't rest but get down to lower elevations to oxygenate yourself. If you don't you could die from it. Another option is to carry an oxygen bottle with you. If you go to a welding supply shop you can get breathable oxygen from them since they supply hospitals. Be careful up there. Also at higher elevations it's best to adapt to it first for a week before you exert yourself. Have a great time.

Dear "Cat G" Your video brought back such wonderful memories! I lived in Independence back in late 70's with my boyfriend/husband to be. I worked at the Lone Pine Schats bakery, lasted one dinner shift at The Merry Go Round steak house., finally settled as a CNA at the local nursing home or sanatorium. I was a volunteer EMT also in Independence. That started my journey to being a registered Nurse, which was why we moved away. The area had no college for my goal. After 33 years as a Frontline HCW, ER/Trauma/ICU, I retired in 12/2020. This is my favorite video! So many of my favorite hikes/running trails are your camp grounds, too Thank you for sharing the beauty of Eastern Sierras! I have taken my truck camper, 1997 Lance Squire 3000, my flat towed Jeep Rubicon, and camped at Lone Pine RV park. Wish I could of afforded a 4x4 Dodge DRW, but my budget was stretched as I had just recovered from ovarian cancer. I have an 05 Dodge DRW CREW CAB 2X6 Cancer taught me what you already know. Live everyday with joy and abundance Again, this is MY favorite place. You did a great job.

Hi Catherine! I lived in Inyokern for 16 years before moving into Ridgcrest. I wish I could show you the picture that hangs in my living room. When my husband and I moved to Idyllwild full time we wanted to take a piece of the Eastern Sierra with us. I know you would love the photo. We got tired of the hot summers, Bone chilling winters and of course the “W” you never actually say the word or it will blow and blow 😉. We do miss the sunrises and sunsets they are spectacular!

We are so similar in that, aside from a handful of very important ppl, we prioritize the call of the land in our lives. I feel so grateful to realize and accept this, and also to be able to heed the call...! Even though less than 2 years ago I was planning on building a house, now instead I'm focused on getting an adventure vehicle set up (which has been in my heart for a long time). Thanks for the inspo, as always! 🤍

I'm heading that way in the next couple of weeks. Doing some camping in the Alabama Hills. Anyway, the last time I was there, I had my 10 month-old Jack Russell Terrier with me. I stopped at that same restaurant, Mt. Whitney, and asked if it was cool for me to sit outside with Amigo. The temp was around 100, but I live in Phoenix, so that's a kind of nice day, dontchaknow. Well, the waitress would have none of THAT!!! She said, "Don't be silly! You can sit out here, but he can come in!", and laughed and laughed, and then led us in. Threw in a chicken finger for m'boy, too. Definitely having some grub there before I pitch my camp! ---- Love your vids. Pleasing views and vistas, and you're easy on the eyes, as well. Muchas Gracias, Señora Nómada.
