CANADA DIARIES 🏔️ EPIC First time exploring Banff & Lake Louise, Alberta Travel vlog ep.4

Welcome to the Canada Diaries 🇨🇦 Today was probably one of the most scenic and beautiful days in my life as we head to Lake louise then up Banff Gondola to the peak of Sulphur Mountain.
🇨🇦 First we head on the most scenic drive between Banff National Park to Lake Louise in the height of winter, where we pick our skates and attempt to Ice skate on the huge frozen lake
🇨🇦 Then we stop for a bite to eat at the Grizzy house in Banff before we head up Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola for some of the most breath taking scenery I have ever seen (it made me cry lol)
Lets go on a beautiful adventure together shall we?

Beautiful video of Banff and Lake Louise. I’m glad you got some blue skies. If you come here in the summer you can rent a canoe to go on that lake. :) Maybe try the Rocky Mountaineer train Banff to Vancouver. I always thought that would be amazing.

I’m a born and raised Albertan and I never tire of visiting Banff and Jasper. Catherine, now when you are in Epcot and you look at the Canadian pavilion, you will notice the building is modeled after the Canadian Pacific railway hotels (now Fairmonts). It was lovely to watch your vlogs and see how much you and Dean enjoyed your first visit to the Canadian Rockies.

😍😭 I've never been to Banff, but I've been to Lake Tahoe in Nevada/California (SO amazing, would make an equally fantastic trip to this one) and the Smoky/Appalachian/Blue Ridge Mountains (in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and North Carolina) and it feels like this for me every time. So, so beautiful and awe-inspiring. I really want to go to the Mournes in Ireland.

You need to visit Vancouver, Canada next! It is foodie, city, and nature all in one. The Rocky Mountains are actually on the border of Alberta and British Columbia. British Columbia is filled with mountain views :)

Thank you for posting about your trip to Banff. I'm from Alberta but live overseas, so I haven't been to Banff for a few years. I loved seeing all the beautiful places again! My husband and I went to The Grizzly House too and we loved it. We sat at the back of the restaurant though. In my younger days, I went on the gondola with two friends. On the way up it wasn't a problem, but on the way down, a storm came up suddenly and they stopped the gondola for a few minutes. That was really scary to be hanging there above the mountain, not knowing what was going on! When there was a break in the storm, they restarted the gondola and brought us all the way down. We were so glad to be on the ground again.

Glad you both enjoyed it. I live in Calgary ( emigrated from Scotland many years ago) and there is so much to see and do. When you come back, you should try soaking in the hot springs after going up to Sulphur mountain...so relaxing. The road to Jasper is also breath taking. Haste ye back!!

I was worried about the winter driving for you guys - but honestly the roads were so dry you really lucked out! Also the wildfires were so terrible last year, if you had come summer/fall most of these views would have been totally obscured by smoke :(

I miss Banff I haven’t been there in years even though I live in Calgary (I don’t drive) my most favourite place there is the Banff Springs Hotel!
