Catholic Belgian university ‘deplores’ Pope Francis's comments on role of women in society

Pope Francis has been sharply criticised by one of Belgium’s Catholic universities over his stance on the role of women in society, in a strongly worded press release issued just moments after the pontiff spoke at the college.

Professors and students at UCLouvain, where the 87-year-old pontiff had made a speech on Saturday afternoon, said they wanted to express their 'incomprehension and disapproval' about the pope’s views. Francis went to the university on Saturday to celebrate its upcoming 600th anniversary as part of a weekend trip he is making to Belgium. His speech largely called for global action on climate change, but he also responded to a letter to him from students and professors that had asked about the Catholic church’s teaching on women

Because a bunch of angry feminists from the sixties decided that women and men are exactly the same, which led to the idea that men and women are interchangeable, which in turn lead to the idea that men can become women and women can become men (yes, ironically, the transgender argument is the logical conclusion of feminism!). Undoing that last part would mean going a full crircle, back to the times when we knew the basic truth: men and women are different, their roles in the society are different and that they compliment each other in the most beautiful way. The left cannot allow that. They would rather set women against men and allow perverts in women only spaces.

@@BobSmith-s7j He picked Britain because they have some of the lowest forest cover of any European country (something to aspire to I suppose?). Ignoring the fact that Britain was slowly deforested over the course of over a thousand years primarily to make way for living space or subsistence farmland. He equates that medieval deforestation with modern economic development even though both Britain's forests are slowly coming back and its economy is still growing. But really the main reason the Amazon is being slashed and burned is to make grazing land for big international cattle ranchers to sell more cheap beef to Americans.

Anyone who believes in evolutionary theory (an enlightenment theory par excellence for those who reject religion as "unscientific") would have to acknowledge that the evident differences between male and female humans probably relate to a difference of role and apportionment of talents between men and women. People who claim to embrace diversity and then argue men and women cannot be allowed such differences are contradicting themselves. That's why it's reasonable to assume that they, rather than you or the pope, are confused.

The controversial part was here in The Netherlands on the news in short. He seemingly said that doctors who do abortions are murderers. The university was outraged as we live in the 20th century and Belgium does not want to be told how to carry out their laws. Honestly I think the video is ridiculous and doesn't deserve a watch.

It's basic biology to be fair, 1 man can impregnate many women at the same time but a woman can only be pregnant once every 9 months or so. When it comes to rebuilding women will always be a higher priority than men, that's why we focus on protecting women and children above all when it comes to survival.
