I love his broad range of Christian books and his unbiased reviews. Whether it’s Protestant or Catholic he simply tells you what the content is and what he likes or dislikes about it

Sorry to but in like this. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Evangelist Eli Hernandez. He was a man of God. Many were healed and saved under his ministry at TLC. His prophesies over our church gave us great direction in our relocation. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Stan Gleason's Church.

Yes. Amen. He preached his 1st revival ever at our Church around 1987-88.

I have a question, is the NABRE, RSV-CE, etc originally Protestant bibles that Catholics made their own editions of including the apocrypha? I have a friend who uses an RSV but it’s not a Catholic bible.

Do penance usually because its the RC priest tells the lay person after confession sins to the priest.Penance is one of the 7 sacraments according to the Roman Catholic Cathechism. As a former Roman Catholic this is what I heard while studying elementary and in high school in a Roman Catholic institution. Thanks again for this video.

This is great, do you have another one with Catholic translations? I have just moved into the Catholic Church, and have to say that I am so used to the vast array of translations in Protestantville that it is a bit discouraging finding a "go-to" translation as a Catholic. The NABRE translates - who the son sets free as "who a son sets free"....

Not to my knowledge my friend.

The 'Catholic' versions of Protestant translations have super miniscule changes. I myself hold on to my various ESVs and my '84 NIV, but then also have a ESV-Catholic edition (again almost no changes from the 2016 text. The real difference is the presence of the deuterocanon), RSV Catholic Edition, and RSV 2nd Catholic Edition (fixed Luke 1:34 in the newest revision of the 2ndCE & removes archaic language) The NAB / NABRE is an ugly translation in my opinion. It's predecessor, the Confraternity Bible, was a much more beautiful (and accurate) translation. It's a shame it never reached completion.

Keep your old bibles and have one with the Deuterocanon/apocrypha handy for whenever you'd end up reading into the deutero 👍

@@AwaitHasten which I have also done. The NIV84, however, did remove the word tradition when it was a good thing and kept it in when it was a negative thing.

In the Douay Rheims they translate Do penance instead of repent in Matthew 4:2.

Our not-bornagain-legalistic translators messed up big time and made the bible contradict itself on multiple points. The original text, lit up by Holy Spirit, on the other hand is crystal clear. Some examples: 1. Orge in context means "passion" in stead of "wrath". So now translators made a loving God (in Him is light no darkness, He is never tempted to do evil, God is love, it pleases the Father to give you the kingdom, the Father himself loves you, etc, etc) suddenly become a vengefull God, from wich we have to be saved....? Utter BS. Through Jesus, God saves us from the fall of man and restores us back to His divine nature. The divine nature Adam let go of in the fall. Jesus beaten to pulp on a cross? Gods extreme passion to restore what got lost in the Garden: His divine power and love image in human form. 2. Sozo means "made complete" in stead of "saved". So now we are stuck with a stupid totally unbiblical "Repent! Or go to hell!" doctrine. In stead it has always been about transformation of human life back in to His image again. Repent btw actually means "change the way you think completely". That would be: "Wow, God loves me and restores me from the fall into His Image. Thank you Jesus, have your way in me with your Holy Spirit. You are amazing!!" 3. "Seeing Jesus comming on the clouds" actually reads "perceiving Jesus from a heavenly perspective". So now we have millions of ignorant Christians waiting for a bus to get them to heaven in stead of understanding that heaven came inside of them to transform them in to their original created value again. Read Gen 1:27 vs 2 Cor 3:18. Etc, etc, Therefore. The letter kills but the Spirit brings forth Divine life in abundance.....

The Catholic Monks Greek and Latin who spent millions of hours, they didn’t have printing presses they didn’t have email, they didn’t copy and past they had quills and parchment and they spent millions of hours copying the bible so that you could have the Bible, and those Monks were monks were celibate, they went to mass, they believed in infant Baptism , they sprinkled Babies, they prayed for the dead, they asked saint to pray for them, they did all the Catholic stuff. And your saying OH us Protestants we know better then them. Sant Paul actually teaches against scripture alone, he says in 2 Thessalonians 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
