Where were these bishops when the lives of people were being lost in the pf regime. People murdered in cold blood in day light? Where were they when the country's economy was being messed up by way of over borrowing beyond limit putting every Zambian in debt, whether one is dead, alive or not yet born they were all in debt. Minister Lusambo hacking a person with a different political opinion from pf. Just as political powers are prone to abuse so too can the church powers of leadership be able to be abused. The Catholic leadership is composed of men who are humans with feelings and emotion as well as personal interests. Due to this fact, some are bound to have a skewed views & opinions on matters of politics. The Catholic church is not representative of the entire church bodies in Zambia. There is a church mother body which constitutes all churches in Zambia. Priests shouldn't abuse their positions too.

The Bishops were silent when the nation was traumatized by PF Cadres under the PF regime. Why do they feel compelled to speak now? However, I like their proposition for transperancy which should even be mandated by the constitution for those in public office.

One of the roles of priests & pastors is to pray & intercede for the nation in closets rather than indulge in open & public condemnation. Condemnation by the clergy or from any other quarter is often read & petceived to be failure to intercede!

Simendanamakando, you are clearly blindfolded by political alignment with UPND such that , you have easily lost a shred of credibility and integrity by assuming that Catholic Church has taken a different view concerning the government of UPND. Since independence of Zambia, the Catholic Church even before Zambia was born., the church has continued to contribute to the country through education, health, agriculture bridging people to people, a voice for the voiceless, needy, marginalised, the persecuted, demonised, stateless, political prisoners, social justice and have always been transparent about what they speak about because they live among the masses and in places where politicians do not visit frequently only during campaign and elections times. Fours ago, Simenda, it was the Catholic Church that spoke openly criticising then PF for mistreatment of HH and other political leaders. It was the same Catholic that stood with HH and UPND to ensure they were treated fairly and justy like another person. It is the same Catholic Church spoke openly about the injustice of HH treatment and played a pivotal role in securing his release from Mukobeko Maximum Prison. It was the same Catholic Church that PF cadres accused of siding with UPND . Archbishop Mpundu was called names and accused of supporting UPND , by then he accused of being a politician and insulted him to join politics and meet the PF in the political field and compete. UPND was singing and praising the Catholic Church for standing up against the evil deeds of PF check your posting on social media platforms and you will agree with me this is 100% correct. My sincere reminder to those young and true lacking the better understanding of the Catholic Church social teachings and justice for all, the Catholic Church will continue issuing pastoral letter or statements as they have done during UNIP , MMD, PF and UPND or any political party or government to come after UPND . The Catholic Church does not issue statements via her Bishops without a thorough examination of what they will talk about . They gather information, facts and evidence in a thorough, transparent and methodical ways. When they say something, 99.99% is true and they can back up the facts. Unfortunately UPND you have become immune to criticisms, intolerant, ignorant, arrogant, you know it, any criticism you use and abuse the government institutions to go after those individuals, institutions, political opponents and their operatives by trying to silence them. Extra judicial, speakers of the National Assembly, police, DPP, ACC, DEC, ECZ, registrar of political parties, Tell me which of the past governments had every 10 vital and sensitive institutions with acting up directors ? This is a systematic abuse of authority, power and institutions because acting because HH knows these people their positions are temporary and any act or duty within the law that HH is not in favour by these acting individuals they will be punished by losing their positions. These acts by HH are pure demonstration of president who is scared of losing power, resorting to intimidation, violence, anarchy, corruption, dictatorship, creating laws that are designed to punish opponents and serve those in power, more importantly has lost his grip on power that people entrusted him or her. The downfall is that , institutions that have failed people have a tendency to go after perpetrators after they lose power, HH is no exceptional , minister like Kabuswe must be very careful. Raphael- IG , police commissioners , minister of home affairs. Chief justice, Nelly Mitti , Mwiitwa and others be careful . My sincere advice is that , these institutions you are abusing will come after you., the current power and authority you are abusing is temporally because it’s the same people who put you in power will take away the power as they did with previous governments. Don’t forget that the Catholic Church is not your enemy just because they are telling and teaching the truth. Your most powerful enemy is the people of Zambia you have to worry about each time the day passes as the count down to elections are coming closer. You have silenced the people who hold your power as such listen to the Catholic Church because they can not be bought or bribed . Those praise singers have been there since independence even before, the political prostitutes , they change the colours like a chameleon and have no shame as long as they can fill their bellies . The Catholic will always be there and will be forever honest and a humble servant of God.
