I would say coming from an eastern religion where people on the process to self-evolution really strive to abandon the "baser" urges without social pressures (Our religious leaders can get married and have kids etc or they can choose to avoid it altogether.), those, who take a vow to something, are doing for their own motivations; and so, therefore, more likely to commit to them. That is in contrast to being told what to do and how to do it, which seems to be the case for western religions. Again, Eastern monks, gurus, spiritual leaders, who are celibate, are so for their own reasons.... and more likely to remain that way.

Every priest makes a voluntary vote of chastity, this means you submit to God any preferences you might have and constantly renew it as your love for God. The moment you give up on that and speak out your preferences, you are not a priest anymore because it means you admit you are no longer able to the chastisement commitment anymore. The right thing to do is to leave the priesthood and live your life the way you want as you gave in to the world.
