Annulment is when a marriage is dissolved completely and there is no record of it existing, like wiping the slate clean. Divorce is where the two parties do not want to be married anymore and break off the marriage, but there is still record of it.

I can't think of one Protestant demonination that teaches, preaches and insists on the indissolubility of marriage.

Just showing the text in the Catechism that holds this truth up... 2383The separation of spouses while maintaining the marriage bond can be legitimate in certain cases provided for by canon law. If civil divorce remains the only possible way of ensuring certain legal rights, the care of the children, or the protection of inheritance, it can be tolerated and does not constitute a moral offense. So...If civil divorce is not the "only possible way" then it DOES constitute a moral offense.
