Not a good idea to isolate 1 verse. Read the context and the whole letter. But even if you do isolate this. He didnt say the Galatians were severed he said those who seek to be justified by the law are those severed. Salvation is by faith in Christ. Read all the letter to include Romans and many other Scriptures. There were people around them trying to get them to again follow the law. He also addressed them as brethern not as those severed. Sad people don't think salvation is secure. Jesus is my salvation and hope!

Can we apply just a tiny bit of logic to situations of this sort? Written history goes back at least 5000 years. During that time there have been hundreds of civilizations. Each had its own religion, possibly many. Each religion had its own holy days and each divilization had its own civic holidays. There are only 365 days in the year. Overlap is inevitable and not necessarily causation.
