It is amazing to see a culture of the past brought before our eyes through the lens of Dr. Pitre. It deepens our understanding of what the Good Lord was saying at the time. Thank you, Dr. Pitre, for the wonderful work you are doing.

As a Canadian, part of my culture is that of the Native Canadians, who have storytellers, who carry an extremely important role in their society in passing on the morals and beliefs through generations. I think of you as being like a Catholic storyteller. You're so blessed in this role. I sometimes imagine you telling stories to your kids when they were little, and lighting up their hearts and minds. I hope you did that for them. I delight in your gift of storytelling. You make me a better human being and a better Catholic. Thank you for that. ❤️

RIght?! I want to *move in with his family* and hear all the stuff he says. I can imagine his family doing anything like, can opener and BOOM 💥 "that can opener is like [mystery of the Kingdom of God]" and everything that happens in his house, he'd know a way to whip out some Holy Writ! Unfortunately we're sedes and I cringe thinking about him trying to explain the patchy mamas. Like, _what if he could._ Then I'd have to run away from my new adoptive family.

Very clear explanation.. Thank you, Dr. Pitre. Jesus had known that Satan would send his soldiers to His Church, as what we can clearly see now - but at the end of time He would settle wiith them. Let us be faithful to Him.

Hi, I’m Indonesian. My name is Richard Johanes. Jesus allowed the wheat to grow together with weeds, until the end of time. This gives hope as well as a willingness to prepare. God will continue to provide opportunities for us to correct our mistakes until we are called by God. But at the same time, this hope must also be accompanied by preparedness, because about the day and time no one knows (cf. Matt. 24:36). At the end of time, weeds that grow with wheat in the fields cannot be allowed into the same warehouse. At that time, those who commit error and commit evil will be thrown into the furnace of fire (vv. 40-42). What about wheat or people who do the Father's will? They will get eternal happiness in Heaven (v.43). Bible Story For Children By RJ

Born into humility and sinless in his way beloved by many and strong like a mountain yet gentle with our sin's and for the price of 30 pieces of silver he was taken away from us in order that scripture may be fulfilled so that we could be called the children of God. I love your teaching Dr. Pitre💚💚👍👍

As you have taught us, it is always a good practice to read a little further down than just the mass readings. It's like the priests give themselves a little room to explain the text and look smart. Most Catholics won't crack open their Bible to read further. But Jesus is very clear on his explanation. What is interesting is that He tells us exactly how it will happen with His Angels coming down and take the good wheat to heaven.

Thank you for sharing the wisdom that is God’s gift to you. I love hearing your explanations of scripture. I had always thought of this as the “good” vs “bad” people. I just had the thought while listening (someone else commented below the same). We have wheat and weeds in each of us. Perhaps the ridding of the weeds in us at judgement is our purgatory. The allowing the growth until the harvest gives us the opportunity to produce as much “wheat” as possible.

I do wonder though, at 6:53 - yes it doesn't mean that God is negligent, but... the fact the parable mentions that the bad seed was sowed by the enemy "while the men were sleeping" - suggests to me that the servants were indeed being negligent to allow this to happen. I don't quite know what to make of that detail. Dr. Pitre, please help? ...I'm reminded of the disciples falling asleep at the garden of Gethsemane. Same sort of situation.

You are right. I wonder, how Dr. Pitre would explain that verse. Thank you, Dr. Pitre for your great work. You are a blessing!

"Sleeping" Indicates human weakness. Even jesus says(in his human time)" My soul is willing but my body isn't. Therefore i should PRAY"(I'm paraphrasing it). On another occasion jesus himself PRAYED " father, if it's possible please take this cross away from me... but let your will be done". So we can see here that human nature is weak in it's natural state. That's exactly why jesus prayed all the time and taught us to pray. He overcame his weakness of human nature through continues prayer, fasting etc..and set an example for us. God bless y'all.

This parable takes on more meaning when we look at what the Bible says about winnowing and threshing. After the weeds are removed and the wheat harvested, it must be winnowed and threshed and purified. Clearly, we must expect corruption even within the Church. God has known this all along and has a plan to deal with it. Viva Christo Rey!
@mikepoulin30204 жыл бұрын
This parable is often used to say that we have to sit back and allow "weeds" to flourish in the Church...not so. Jesus said the field is the world, not the Church...and clearly He explained it was the angels who had to sit back and do the waiting until the gathering time...not us! We should be weeding the sons of the enemy out of the Church....By misunderstanding this parable and its mis-application to the people within the Church, we have allowed the "weeds" to infest it and choke off its life...

The parable of the wheat and the tares is a very good parable given to understand why Jesus will not be returning for any particular earthly church or denomination. So much so, any earthly church believing otherwise has either added or diminished from the written authority of God's word. The true church of God comprises all those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, born from above, and sealed by the Holy Spirit ( 1 Peter 2:9). Notice: no mention of denomination or church affiliation.
@tlslks41693 жыл бұрын
For me this parable has to do with our behavior to do the right and the wrong things in our lives. Those who did good things will go to Heaven and those who did evil will receive punishment in the End of Time.
@dannisivoccia27123 жыл бұрын
@@tlslks4169 The only ones whom God qualifies as good before His eyes will be those who were redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, born from above, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Scripture says that all our righteousness are as filthy rags before a Holy God. It also says that without faith it is impossible to please God. The Apostle Paul made it very clear about being saved by our own good works...."Lest any man should boast "

@CatholicProductions, you do not have the fullness of the gospel which is why you don’t have the full understanding of the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares. There are a lot more books/records than your 66 book bible (see 2 Esdras 14:44-48 (KJV)). If you desire the full understanding, I recommend you read Doctrine and Covenants 86:1-11; The Sealed Portion The Final Testament of Jesus Christ (TSP) 65:1-5 and also The Words of Mormon verses 22-23. The referenced books are all our Hebrew Israelites ancient records. Please note that The Holy Bible which includes the Apocrypha are the Southern Kingdom’s records (Judah, Benjamin and Levi) which were located in northeast Africa and The Book of Mormon aka The Stick of Joseph in the Hand of Ephraim are the Northern Kingdom’s records which are the 10 Tribes of Israel located in the Americas. For your awareness, these two sticks/books will be joined together in these last days to form one stick (see Ezekiel 37:15-20 (KJV). :-)

This guy is babbling about gardening that's not what our Lord ment. On his sermon Matthew 13:24-32 What do we do when we learn the difference between Good and Evil. What do the symbols in this reading mean? The Harvest, the wheat, the cockles or Darnel. The Harvest is a Time of maturity full growth,good ground. Another words at the Harvest is the time of “discernment” the Harvest symbolizes “maturity”, fully grown, good ground. The good seed, Wheat means God's word, his wisdom and knowledge and Life eternal !!! Darnel,Cockle,Tare, means : Made in Rye bread. It's Latin name is Lolium Temulentum Family. Darnell = a Belgan word = drunkenness. Ergotoxicosis or ergot !!! is what killed Saint Anthony of Padua. Cockle = a Hebrew word = “Boshah” = offensive having a bad smell. Ergot !!! Tare (Ergot) = middle French from old Italian term Tara which is itself from the Arabic word Tarha meaning “ that which is removed” The common name for Ergot is Saint Anthony's Fire. Tare,Darnel,Cockle are considered the evil twins of wheat they are different names but the same plant just as Vice has different names but from the same plant of evil. They signify, drunkenness, a bad smell, getting high, death, sin, debauchery, Vice and Evil…. As in the Bible jealousy and envy apprehension, covetousness… In Syria, “Ergot” it's called “daughter of blood” those who didn't die right away later found their hands and feet falling off of them, if they continued to eat “ergot” Symbolizing, listening to evil Vice or heresy (Ergot) !!! That kills the heart and soul from poisonous Doctrine. Jesus knew about ergot, and its effect, on the heart and soul. Do not mix what is evil with what is Holy. Just as Saint Anthony was holy, but it was “ergot” Rye bread, that killed him. There is no other point to the Harvest than to feed man. The traditional catholic church teaches we are not to dwell with the Heretics nor are we to embrace them but to be a role model and a guide to a holy life otherwise we are to Shake the Dust from our feet and move on. Today's Catholic Church teaches just the opposite to not judge to accept and embrace Heretics and evil men to eat rye bread laced with the poison and ergot of false teaching that can only bring a slow death. Your hands and feet begin to fall off, hands and feet symbolize your eyes, ears, and mouth the doorway to your heart where are the enemy comes and plants the evil seeds. Be aware of false teachers, Vatican 2 Church the ergot, who wants you to embrace the evil of other religions through “Dialogue” ergot, for Unity. They are the Rocky ground The Bad Seed. God Love You
