The whole purpose of repentance is metanoia. We Catholics understand that we have inclinations to sin, but we should also try our best not to act upon that inclination and to give that sacrifice to God for the redemption of sins and our own sanctification. @@StudiousCattery don't worry, I won't stop asking questions. The idea of demonic oppression and posession is interesting to me. I don't drink, I am not interested in sexual relationships, I don't think that wiccan rituals have any more merit than a placebo effect and some are just visualisation, I never tried anything like that in a spiritual context. I don't think I have experienced trauma in my childhood, I have a good relationship with my parents. I can't speak for you though. How would you know that what you are feeling is due to demonic influence, instead of being a mundane human experience?
@vinc885Ай бұрын
@@StudiousCattery everything I have ever been told about the occult, encounters and magic sounds mundane to me. These accounts have been very inconsistent and as I am relatively well educated on medical topics, as well as Psychology these explainations seem more likely. I won't discount it's existance entirely, but it doesn't seem very plausible. I don't hold any belief in God, I tried, but reading the bible and engaging with believers has always driven me further away from faith. I am indeed pretty happy with my life, although it isn't easy, and intend to spend my time well, for no other reason than that I deeply desire it. What well means might change. For the alcohol, I get conveniently honest and realize I don't want to be there. The last time I got to half a beer until I dumped it and left. That was years ago. And yes, usually I take care of the people who are drunk and keep them safe. If you have recurrent sleep paralysis you might want to ask your doctor for a sleep study, even if it were demons, them interacting with the physical world through you could be detectable. Just to make sure it isn't anything serious, there isn't any risk involved. I hope you question your believes from time to time, the question "why" is useful. It might lead you to better insight and don't be afraid of not knowing.

I liked your comment but I must say to you something of value. The Lord God is a father at the end of the day, a parent. When a parent raises a child, and that child goes rouge so to speak, leaving home to be in there own, and later comes back home a better person. Should the parent deny their child? Or do you think the parent would feel joy, and comfort at the sight of their child returned home. The person they raised them to be, guided them to be. Your bad deeds will fade to the part of their mind that they labeled “Don’t care anymore, it is okay now.” The Lord God did not need our belief in him to bring everything we have around us, including us, to fruition. He doesn’t need our belief now, but he did not create us, to be separate from us. We did that, and continue to do that with immorality throughout the human populations. I pray that the Lord God bless’s you with his presence.

That 1% of catholic priests surveyed have had inappropriate thoughts/actions towards minors. 3% of Protestant pastors have had those. The highest statistic was primary school teachers at 10%. Actually pope Francis has made civil union of homosexual couples legal and acceptable in the catholic church, and because it says in the Bible many many times that the pope is infallible and he backed it up with verses of the Bible, it is appalling and ridiculous to me that this is still an argument. In every single verse where homosexuality is mentioned it was abhorred not because of the act itself but because of either a large age gap which was lost in translation, which was meant to discourage pedophilia (eg man laying with boy not man with man in original scripture), or because it was a gay person being sexually promiscuous. So basically you can be an excellent catholic according to our current pope as long as you abstain from whoring around and pedophilia. A committed homosexual relationship is not rejected by the church anymore.

Sahih al-Bukhari 3896 Narrated Hisham's father: Khadija died three years before the Prophet (ﷺ) departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married `Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old. Sahih al-Bukhari 6130 Narrated `Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for `Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fath-ul-Bari page 143, Vol.13) Sahih Muslim 1211 k A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: We entered into the state of. Ihram for Hajj till we were at Sarif and I was in menses. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to me and I was weeping. The rest of the hadith is the same but (with this portion) that there were sacrificial animals with Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and with Abu Bakr, Umar and with rich persons. And they pronounced Talbiya as they proceeded on. And there is no mention of this (too): "I was a girl of tender age and I dozed off and my face touched the bind part of the Haudaj." Sahih al-Bukhari 6971 Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "It is essential to have the consent of a virgin (for the marriage). I said, "A virgin feels shy." The Prophet; said, "Her silence means her consent." Some people said, "If a man falls in love with an orphan slave girl or a virgin and she refuses (him) and then he makes a trick by bringing two false witnesses to testify that he has married her, and then she attains the age of puberty and agrees to marry him and the judge accepts the false witness and the husband knows that the witnesses were false ones, he may consummate his marriage." Sahih Muslim 1422 a 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house at the age of nine. She further said: We went to Medina and I had an attack of fever for a month, and my hair had come down to the earlobes. Umm Ruman (my mother) came to me and I was at that time on a swing along with my playmates. She called me loudly and I went to her and I did not know what she had wanted of me. She took hold of my hand and took me to the door, and I was saying: Ha, ha (as if I was gasping), until the agitation of my heart was over. She took me to a house, where had gathered the women of the Ansar. They all blessed me and wished me good luck and said: May you have share in good. She (my mother) entrusted me to them. They washed my head and embellished me and nothing frightened me. Allah's Messenger (, may peace be upon him) came there in the morning, and I was entrusted to him. Sahih al-Bukhari 4750 "By Allah Who has sent you with the truth, I have never seen anything regarding Aisha which I would blame her for except that she is a girl of immature age who sometimes sleeps and leaves the dough of her family unprotected so that the domestic goats come and eat it." As a Christian and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I feel like I have something to add to this. Being attracted to the same sex is totally fine, and the chance of me getting marred to another female is not unlikely. But being gay does not excuse us from the requirement of waiting till marriage. I don't practice homosexual intercourse because I'm not married. My faith is not defined by my sexual orientation. I love women as a woman and I love God above all else. My future life partner does not define whether I'm going to heaven or hell. I really like how this woman phrased her response. She was respectful of the other persons opinion and said hers in a way that was not designed to offend or hurt, rather to lead them to what she thinks is right. I would love if all Christian's had this way of expressing their opinions, because then we wouldn't have such a bad rap in terms of accepting others opinions no matter how different they are from our own. I hope that this affects whoever reads this in a positive manner, and that they might change the way they speak to others when expressing different opinions. I hope you all have a good day.

@@ojewassolldas12 Sex can involve lust and treating one as a sexual object. Love is wanting and doing what is best for the other, and love can also be expressed through sex but not always as I said before through lust. A lot of people probably have sex early on in their relationships out of lust and less likely out of true love which might be a factor that plays into the sad increase in abortions, divorces, and break up of families that would cause a degrading society as families make up a society as societies are often communal and made up of families. If families break apart, so would society and its overall morals perhaps. Sex is an act of procreation between a man and woman to reproduce and have children as that is why we have the sexes. But sex is not always love and love is not always sex. They have some distinction from each other. In my opinion, to create a better society we should all focus less on sex and more on actually loving, supporting, teaching, and embracing each other and the truth of Christianity as expressed through Jesus Christ the Son of God. So here is the distinction between love and sex and please do not confuse them.

Quite understanding from a non religious. To be fair much of what society thinks of as the single life is also sin. Whime I've been told sexual sins are the least of our sins it's hard to engage in sexual just once. It becomes habitual and becomes akin to gluteny. It's like an erosion of the soul. A death by 1000 cuts sort of thing and that's why it's also "grave sin" as she says. The hardest part about being someone in his situation is that there isn't really a solution. For a man living hookup culture it's possible to get married and repent. But to be gay you can still technically marry a woman and father children but if it leads to a toxic loveless marriage then what good is faking it? We do believe that Jesus Christ can change hearts and we do believe in demons of impurity that may be causing this type of thing. But it can take a whole lot of prayer to shake these spiritual attachments and you can still have an addiction formed by habits. I do feel for these people. Their path isn't an easy one but hopefully it is a consolation to them that all things are possible through the father.

Just because he loves us doesn't mean the sinners who don't repent will still go to heaven bc "God loves us too". That simply wouldn't be fair to the ones who DID go against their fleshly desires and repented for their sins, and one thing about God is that he is JUST⚖️. So the sinners without repentance will go exactly where God said they'll go and the repented* sinners will go where he said they'll go.

@@BenDBeast Alot of questions so I'll give brief answers. 1. The Bible is 66 books written by 30 authors over 1500 years. It is multi-genre, and none of the books' genres are considered "fantasy". This isn't a fairy tale book where the author is intentionally writing fiction. 2. Jerusalem, Rome, Galilee, and Babylon are all real places that we have endless historical data on. If you're going to say the Bible is a "fairy tale" it shows your own ignorance of the Bible. You can disagree that the miracles happened but you can't disagree that the writers of the Bible thought they were recording historical fact. 3. The existence of "God" (an all-powerful, superintellegencia) is the best account for the continuous motion of the universe and for the laws of science. 4. The existence of "God" (an omni-benovolent being) is the best account for why human beings conventionally believe that morality is objective. 5. The Bible is accurate because it gives the most accurate reflection of human nature, the phenomenon that was Jesus Christ, and the purpose of the universe.

The answer to this is simple. If you’re catholic, you can choose to not be catholic. If you’re gay, you can’t choose to not be gay. This isn’t about “resisting impulses” this is about resisting being yourself. A lot of people here have a funny way of twisting this, gaslighting by saying “your own natural self is somehow an unnatural state or impulse that must be resisted for the sake of *my* religion.” And then having the gall to say “*you’re* the one being self righteous.” For those of you who understand the hubris and are scrolling through the comment section hopelessly. Don’t worry. This is obviously an overtly Christian video, so of course most of the people who clicked on it and commented on it would be closed minded Christians. Honestly, what other kind of response would you expect from a nun? I just came here to see the comments, and I’m actually glad and hopeful to see that there are some others here who see through this bs.

Please tell me, if a person has a ped0philic thought - does that mean that this person HAS to approve of and embrace that sexual thought for the rest of his/her life? If a married man has a sexual thought about a woman who isn't his wife - does that mean that this person HAS to "embrace who he is" and call himself polyamorous? You can't use the logic that your sexual proclivities are reflective of "who you are" because you would obviously say to those scenarios that someone SHOULD fight ped0ohilic or adulterous thoughts. The Christian position is the most logical position and the only close-minded person here is you for trying to force a sexual paradigm where people who have same-sex attractions HAVE to embrace it.
