Things were not perfect but they have all had happy lives with lifelong spouses (except one), kids and grandkids, no drug or alcohol abuse. Their faith in God held them together. The older ones suffer from illnesses, but maintain optimism. That is what I especially love about the Osmonds. Interesting thing I discovered, they were huge in England.

Lucky! I wish I was alive at that time and had gotten a chance to see them perform. I've been a fan ever since I was a child due to my mother being a superfan of Donny, Haha :) I've just turned 18 and I've seen Donny&Marie twice (this year and the last). Donny signed my Disco Train vinyl at the last concert I went to and I was the happiest girl alive!! Planning on seeing them again soon!

Say what you want about the Osmonds, but the really ROCKED!! By this time in their careers, they already had 10 years of professional performing under their belts. I saw an Andy Williams skit during a Christmas special and they never missed a step and the skit had NO EDITS. It was done totally in one take. Donny really plays piano and at least two of the Brothers played drums and the others played numerous instruments. Incredibly musical family. Have not seen anything like them since. Do you know of any musical family that had this talent? Maybe Hanson? The Cowsills had this talent. Check out The Jackson had this talent but I don't think the Jacksons played that many instruments though. One Jackson played bass and another played guitar, but not sure if Michael played any instrument. No video exist that I have seen.

They skillfully play 28 musical instruments among them; dance, write music, and create an electricity between stage and audience, that can only be felt during an Osmond performance. The Osmond family has collectively been awarded 59 gold and platinum records. They wrote all the songs and played all the instruments with Alan on rhythm guitar, Wayne on lead guitar, Merrill on lead vocals and bass, Jay on drums and Donny on keyboards. Donny still performs, Marie still performs and is part of the 'The Talk" ladies, Merrill is still performing and touring. Unfortunately due to their health Alan, Wayne and Jimmy stopped performing; Jay recently retired and has a totally different job now. They were the best then and their last records are still awsome. What is more...they are the nicest people you could ever meet.

Michael Jackson played the piano and there are videos of him playing. There are other families of talented musicians, such as the Bee Gees, but most have not performed as long as The Osmonds.

The Osmonds were straight OG’s!! Donny and his brothers smoked the stage! They pulled off the jumpsuits almost better than Elvis did too!! I used to love seeing their TV shows. Them and the Jackson 5 were such humble professionals and you never heard scandalous stories about them either.

They might have had an unfair "sappy and wholesome" image that was thrust upon them but they were pretty good in concert at least. They were not on the glam side like T-Rex or David Bowie but they were not on the side of David Cassidy no offense to him. They were just the right band for the right time. They were even bigger on the country side I believe in the late 70's.
