I work with singers for a living. 'Danny Boy' and 'Sunshine of My Life' are both *incredibly* difficult arrangements to sing - as in, maybe 1 in 50 singers could actually perform them. To have essentially every member of a single family have this level of musicianship is just incredible.

I remember the Osmond brothers as little children in the early or mid 60s on black and white TV, and their harmony was fabulous even back then. Here, their harmonic chordal 'voicings' are some of the best I'd ever heard. God bless the Osmond family!

What a gem of a video - it’s a time capsule in two ways. We’re seeing them as they were in the 70’s and they’re reviewing the history of their music. Great concept! I’m struck by how they each have a different vocal range. Even as an adult, Jimmy can reach high tenor notes while Wayne’s vocal range is very low. They all come from the same gene pool - all having the same smile and great hair - but their vocal chords came in many variations, allowing them an amazing variety of vocal ranges.

I grew up in a very small, rural town in central Virginia, and everybody in town watched the Andy Williams show. I also remember how everybody in town just about lost their minds the first time they were on the show. It didn't matter what age you were, how much money you had (or didn't have) in the bank, or the color of your skin, it was a time families sat together and watched programs that the only comment the grandmother's would say was : Shhh, they're coming on (said during the commercial). These young boys, with these unbelievable angelic voices were the great equalizers. I can't imagine how difficult it was, to have to practice long hours and be away from home when you were so young and having to work. I just hope in retrospect they can take comfort in the fact that through their sacrifices, it brought "harmony" to so many people everywhere. Also, apologies to the rest of the guys (and thankfully, finally, one girl), but the thing that touches me the most, and I guess forever will be, was the great kindness Donnie (there he goes, stealing the spotlight again!!) showed to Susan Boyle. Her lifelong dreams were to sing like Elaine Paige, and get a smooch from Donnie Osmond. Best wishes to you all, Patricia
