I like to remember it like this, I find cats adorable so I relate them to making me positive ( aka feel happy ) so Cation = CATion, and cats make me feel positive so Cations = positive lol

If anyone has any difficulty remembering which is positive and which is negative (cation vs anion), I remember it by the 'n' (for negative) in the root of the word anion. A N(egative) ION.
