Its quite sad when you know that most of the problems Catra carry during the show are because of the abusive treatment of Shadow Weaver, always hurting her, and making her feel like trash every since she was a child. All of that made a huge impact on her because even when SW was a bitch, she was the only mother figure she had, so it's heart breaking how Catra lowkey always had a soft spot for her despite of everything. That's why Catra cries so much during her last moments, that, and because she said "I am proud of you.", words that Catra wanted to hear from her for all those years. Seeing such a lovely and good ending for her was the best, she deserved it just as much as Adora. Both were meant to be.
